I want to add knobs to my kitchen cabinets. The wood is solid. Any tips? Do it yourself or hire out?

Do you mean swap metal handles, for wooden knobs? If so it should just be a straight swap. Not even any drilling required. You've won the free home visit, so if I post myself now, you should receive me for Christmas;)

So what's the error in the picture? Are you NOT a stud kitchen and bedroom?

Nice work. I wish I could do this work. Gut a bathroom or kitchen and just build it from scratch!

I don't fit bathrooms for customers (the company I subcontract to have bathroom fitters coming out of their ears). I did fit my own last Christmas though.

yay!;;D

I would have to drill the holes. I am very nervous about making sure they are all level and afraid of drilling through the hard wood, that I have the drill bouncing around the surface before I get the drill to bite in. Maybe I could put a little nail hole to start me out, give the drill something to rest in instead of just smooth cabinets.

In my experience that shouldn't be a problem. But if you're not proficient with a drill it could be risky. Just try it on one and if you struggle get a professional in.

I didn't mention, just before I came back to the board my van got torched. The end of September.Basically a local lad drove down my road, side swiped my van, parked further down the road and came back to look at the damage. He then came back 10 minutes later and torched it to destroy the evidence.I had loads of witnesses to it all, except the actual arson. The police (joke that they are) basically said "we asked him,and he said it wasn't him"!!!!. and that all the evidence was circumstantial.
