Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Johnny Cash if we keep it in the english language. Otherwise there is Edith Piaf, Rosenstolz and Lars Winnerbäck from France, Germany, Sweden. Just a few examples. But i agree with some previous posts here that Springsteen is overrated. Some good songs but not enough to live up to his rep.

I love "I Am A Rock" and "The Boxer" and think "Ring of Fire" is awesome!
Of course I love the Beatles too but they have so many stand out songs.....
I like Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks, but I'm right there with you on 'The Boss'.
Just mentioned my top three in english. I listen to a lot of different kind of music but i am kind of allergic to rap. Don't like it.
"Knights in White Satin", Moody Blues. Another example of too much of a good thing.
OMG. If I hear that Happy song again I am going to be very UNhappy!!!
Also that song from Frozen. Let it Go? Something like that. I would love to let it go straight into the depths of the ocean....
My granddaughter, Kat, will 'sing' Let It Go. Her version is funny! She can't say the words yet, but she does the hand out gesture. Cracks me up.
Add to that Stairway to Heaven, Hey, Jude and Imagine among the songs that have been played to death and now I can hardly stand listening to them because of it.

I used to love Pearl jam, then Eddie got all political, and I soured against them.

I'm not threatening. Just stating what this thread is doing to my psyche!
When I get home I'm going to load up my CD player with some Springsteen, Doors, Led Zep, Floyd, Rush, early Pearl Jam and Nirvana. And play it LOUD! Make my neighbors hate me even more. They're lucky my guitar amp is at the studio otherwise I'd be cranking that up too!
