I find that series of commercials hilarious. Yes, if roles were reversed, there would be an uproar. That's life.

Apparently, the model in the BK ad didn't know the intended use of her photo. Thematically, she had signed up for something else. So she was outraged and wanted a boycott. I don't know if her outrage was viral for a while.

I dunno. It seems a matter of human decency to let people know what they're participating in. I mean, you wouldn't take a shot of a nun and put it on something degrading, or I hope not. For the model, it sucks. For the company, play nice, or it could blow up in your face.

Saw an interview with Sharon Stone years after Basic Instinct was released. She said she had no idea that her crotch was going to be exposed in 'that scene'. She said she was mortified. She said she walked up to the director after the premier and slapped him across the face. Made me go 'Hmmmm. Let's see now- you're filming that scene and the camera is rolling along at floor level and it never crossed your mind that you hoo-haw was going to show? Really? Really?' Oh, by the way, she was the one that suggested that she NOT wear panties for that scene as 'her character wouldn't have them on'. Really? This wasn't her first time at the rodeo, folks. She had made enough movies to know about camera angles, lighting, etc.

Come on now.That is just mild.There is a fast food commercial where a half naked chick is all but um "having intercourse" with a hamburger.Every time I see it I am like WTF? I always look at my husband and say,"If that were a guy in that commercial all h*ll would break loose." About time older ladies started getting their groove back

I know the ones. Paris Hilton, of all people, showed up in one--ick, I don't want her anywhere near my burger.

Strange how 'mystery' has become a blanket term that includes horror, crime fiction, and whatever the hell it is Chuck Palahnuik writes. Not at our local library, by gum. Our 'little old ladies' (one of which, the coolest, has long, straight grey hair parted in the middle, rose colored glasses, and smells of patchouli oil) know what a dang mystery is, therefore, in that section, you'll only find yer Robert B Parkers, yer Ross Macdonanlds, yer Mickey Spillanes, etc.

I'd like to see the mayor try stealing anything from our cool old hippy librarian. "Back off, man! These books and DVDs belong to the PEOPLE!"

So the other day I finally decided to find the library's new Used Book Store.Typed the adress into the Tom Tom App and spent 20 minutes driving in circles.I even had hubby on the phone trying to help.I finally got so mad I moved on to Goodwill.After Goodwill I decided to recheck the adress of the Used Boom Store.Ummmmm......I was looking on the wrong street! Finally made it to the bookstore.The sign said "Mystery books buy one get one free." So I found the Stephen King books(Cell,Revival,Duma Key,Misery,Different Seasons,Skeleton Crew,The Dark Tower). I grabbed the set of boxed PB's ( just because I though they looked cool).And I grabbed three cozies.Get to the desk and there are too very sweet elderly ladies working.She rings me up and tells me $12.00.(I am loathe to say anything because they are so cute) but I'm thrifty and I politely said,"Oh,But are the mysteries still BoGO?" The lady ringing me up says," Oh that's right!" I say," I wasn't sure about whether the Stephen King books are included but they are all under mystery." The other lady pipes up with an emphatic,"Stephen King? Oh yes! He writes mystery." I thought to myself," Well that's an odd turn of events,most people just label him as horror." So she adjusted my bill to $6.00 and off I went.
So why am I even telling you this? Becuase those two ladies were just so darn cute!

The Used Boom Store? Oh dear - did those dear old ladies have any incendiary devices for sale? (BOGOF) - buy one get one free!

Is anyone else kinda put off in the Volkswagen commercial with the old ladies flirting with the young man who's giving them a test drive in the car? Grandma and I agreed that if the genders were reversed, there would be demonstrations and imprisonments.

Grandpa, I was having a quite beer two days ago while reading a book in the club and a lady who would have been twenty years older than me came up behind me and touched my ear-lobe. There's carpet and her finger generated static electricity. I was shocked and later I asked her where she came from as she had an accent. She told me she hailed from Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Do you think she was being forward? By the way, I went to your website and for some reason couldn't sign up. Is there a problem with the website?

Hey, Mister. Couldn't say if she was being forward, but I would've wondered what she was doing. But it isn't quite the same as a 70-ish test driving offering a fingertip kiss to a 25-ish customer service type.

Thanks for the tip. I'll look into the website, best I can. I've gotten over 130 registrations in the last day or two, so something is okay with it, I guess. But I can't tell you personally - I've never signed up for it.
