Save me a call to the computer people - they are $135/hour.
Anytime I have the internet open, there is this weird background stuff going on. It's music and commercials and static and sometimes sounds like people's phone conversations. Then when I close the internet, the noise is still there. I shut down, reboot, it's all quiet - until I open Internet Explorer again. The even when I close it back down - the background noise is still there. This happens when there are no programs open. Task manager doesn't show me any open programs that could be causing this. It's driving me crazy. Someone help.

Maybe you have to delete cookies or Plug-ins.

Is you Internet connection Wi-Fi, and have you tried using another browser instead of Explorer?

Are you using wifi, or plugged into a cable provider? Have you tried another browser besides IE?

We are wireless. I will delete cookies, temps and plug ins and see if that works. Thanks!

right now it's the Suzie Orman show. Weird, huh? A little while ago it was someone talking to "Hannah" all about her day - sounded like a cell phone conversation. If I keep the volume on my speaker off, it's gone. Imma sign offa here and see about deleting some cookies and plugins.

That is beyond my knowledge. But I have heard of speakers picking up radio or Tv signals. maybe this link could help:

As you say great minds Spidey, Holly have you a Ethernet cable you can use to "Hard Wire" connect instead of using Wi-Fi connection to your Hub/Router?

I have found that when funky stuff is going on in any of my computers, or any of my families, I run “Spybot Search & Destory,” and “Malwarebytes anti-malware” software (free at cnet), and 8 times out of 10 it fixes the problems.

The simple solution is: don't use Internet Explorer. It is a vile piece of software that ought to be avoided at all cost.
