My thoughts and prayers go the families of the Mounties, three dead ...several injured by a crazy gunman. They have not caught him yet. This has happened in Alberta but we are shocked that it would happen down east like this. OMG one of the officers had three kids!
Schools, transportation, government offices ...even surguries have been closed and stopped. People are being asked to stay indoors.

All I saw was a headline on the front page of the Winnipeg Sun as I was leaving work but I didn't have a loonie to buy a paper - this is so tragic - Three Mounties killed? That is horrible :apologetic::down:

People might think this ISN'T the place to mention it but I believe it's the perfect location at which to ask the OBvious question: What the hell was he doing with a firearm? I'm talking about that person in particular. But I'm also referring to Adam Lanza and all the rest none of whom, so far, have been reported as having stolen their guns. Adam Lanza's guns were all his own. His mom bought them for him, kept them in her own name because people under 21 in Connecticut weren't allowed to own rapid-fire military style rifles, and gave them to him when she got home, where they stayed in his possession for almost two years. Which is when he went on his rampage.
I used to actually believe that story of "criminals stealing weapons." Unfortunately, I know better now.
When it comes to people like the person who shot those three officers, I very DEFINATEly believe in never allowing him to have a gun through legal means.
And I don't care who hates me for saying so.
