My daughter is reading Twilight. I'm kicking her out of the house......

:culpability: Too bad. (not the kicking out part, understandable.)

Sundrop take it as a positive. She is reading, not on the cell or computer. Use it as a learning experience of "bad" writing skills and a poor example of literature.;) Then hand her a SK book!
I'm definitely glad she's reading.....and I showed her the bookcase with all the SK books, and told her she's welcome to read any she chooses. She did say that Twilight doesn't really make any sense, and she knows that real vampires don't sparkle. So there's hope! :biggrin2:

On a side note, she is really enjoying high school. She's making new friends who have the same interests she has, and she gets to embrace her artsy side. When I picked her up at school today, she couldn't stop talking about all the people she's met, and how she's happy to be making new friends.....she even thinks a couple of her teachers are really cool. Her science class only has 10 students, and the teacher lets them call him by his first name, and told them they can bring k-cups to use the Keurig for beverages during class.
She said the art room is such a happy place, and she loves being creative in her own way. Chorus and Theater are her number one loves at the moment, and her good friend, Spencer has signed her up for the spring musical.

It is so good to hear her talking my ear off happily......such a huge difference from the scare she gave me in December. What a difference a little time makes.

Nah. If it gets her reading, it's a good book for her :) My non reader (read well, but didn't like to read) read that a few years ago, and it kick started her interest. Now her favorite books are Heart Shaped Box, Dolores Claiborne, and 'Salem's Lot. Whatever can create that spark in a kid is good!

Fantastic, Sunny!! Sounds like a very sensible girl. Let her finish Twilight and then give her Salems Lot and see what vampires is all about. Glad she is doing better.

That is wonderful, Sunny. I wish her only the best this school year.
