After many sleepless nights and days filled with the torture of listening to my neighbor's dogs bark, all day and all night, the city finally charged the guy. We were supposed to go to court last month, but that was the exact day that I blew out a gut and ended up in the ER. Figures.
Today, we do it again. This evening, after traffic court, I'll appear as a witness for the city against the guy. I have a whole suitcase full of binders of DVDs containing hours upon hours of videos of the dogs yapping at all hours. And I'm printing out a journal that details everything on those videos as we speak, as well as a snarky text the neighbor sent me showing that the thinks he's untouchable and suggesting that I move. I'm bringing all of it. And neighbors on all sides will be there, too, saying how miserable the whole neighborhood is. I'm not convinced anything will happen to the guy, though, regardless of the preponderance of evidence and testimony. They guy's mom works at town hall. She'll be sitting behind the bench as the court recorder, or some such. And the guy's uncle/cousin/whatever sits on the city council. I'll be surprised if I don't walk out of court with a charge for stalking, or some such for videotaping the dogs.
Wish me luck, dear Ka-Tet. I can use all the good vibes I can get.

Those two are a conflict of interest; they shouldn`t even be there and if they are the fact should be pointed out to the court right at the start.
You are well prepared in every sense plus having witnesses (neighbours) there who are not happy either. There should not be a problem in
ending this noise, one way or another. I`ll be thinking of you; let us know how things go ....

Speaking of dogs....here's a video our Lepplady can use in court..........

Use this one instead if you're worried...........

I've got a live feed going on outside my window. And a phone call out to the news stations in Baton Rouge to see if anybody's interested in investigating why a guy that's been charged with violation of a local ordinance hasn't seen the inside of a courtroom for months, and doesn't plan to any time soon, adding that I'm sure the fact that his mother works at town hall has nothing to do with it, of course. Let's see if anybody bites. I'm also looking for a lawyer that will file a civil suit on a contingency basis. If one court won't do anything, maybe another will. Then I'll happily relocate myself and tall guy to the next town over. He can drive 15 minutes to work. Then when he retires in a couple of years, we can quit this state for good and move by my family in the north.
...Or I might move ahead now and visit him often. I hate it here.

I don't usually post stuff like this but since it's all working out then I will. It's been a bit of a stressy week so I haven't been on here.(not that anyone missed me ;;D) My Dad ends up in the hospital this past Sunday and I find out from my stepmother Monday night. I have Mondays off so I had all day to visit him but no. I get along with her well so I didn't make an issue of it. What's the point in a fight? Anyway he had heart issues and they were talking possible surgery but nope, they did a dye cath test and only had to put one stent in and he went home yesterday so yay. Then I have a little dog who is my world(turned 17 today!) and he's been coughing badly the past few days. Has had a couging issue for a couple of years(collapsing trachea, common in small dogs)and is on medicine which has worked great until now. I called the vet and she said maybe he's starting to get congestive heart failure. I made an appt. for Monday, rethought that and changed it to Friday(that's what sick time is for and I never take it!)and ended up taking him yesterday. She took a chest film and said his heart is a little enlarged but not into heart failure territory yet. Going to start him on heart meds just to be safe. I asked her if I'm just prolonging the inevitable and she said "he's happy, I can tell, he's healthy otherwise and if he still eats fine, goes to the bathroom fine and plays then he's not ready yet" Whew. I'm not in denial, he is 17, but I'll take even a few more months with him.
Anyway, long winded but thought I would share because I feel like I can here :cheerful:

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Yay for both your family members!

It is very difficult when you have an ageing parent and pet population... I understand your fears very well.

Before I head out for the day I want to say something because I'm feeling sentimental. Maybe it's due to this week, maybe it's due to "woman" things(TMI? ;-D), maybe it's a combination. I suppose it doesn't matter because I mean every word.
I really enjoy these boards and am so happy to have found this site. I understand what it's like to see new people come in when there are people that have been on here forever. I was on a forum for a long time and started from the beginning and could sometimes be wary of new folks. Most of them turned out great, some turned out not so great. I think it's a territorial feeling. Those forums shut down a couple of years ago due to nobody watching them and there were some real trolls and people who just wanted to start fights. Unlike here, there weren't any moderators so things finally got way out of hand and the head honcho shut it down. I made some wonderful friends on there and have since met up with most of them at various horror conventions and we chat on FB. My point being that everyone on here has been so nice and seeing how you treat each other gives me the warm fuzzies. I don't post a lot because I don't want to be one of THOSE new people(going on 9 months now!)and don't want the long timers to think I'm trying to "take over" or anything similar so I try and keep a fairly low profile. But not too low because I hope to eventually become a member of the family. I know not every member will see this post, only the ones who check this thread on a regular basis but to those who do see it I hope it makes sense. I tend to ramble. lol.
Thanks for the past 9 months. It's been great.
(another long winded one! =D)

Have a great weekend everyone!

I think you already are a part of this family... we are a large group and our variety is what makes it all work I think. It's nice to be chatty and it's also nice to sometimes just sit back and read... there is no recipe to follow, just do what feels right.

Happy weekend to you too... xox

Hi Buckweat, Hi Pyro nice to see you.

Tomorrow we have a Holiday here. So for those who do not have to work on Saturday it's a long weekend. But the weather isn't very good.
Still reading scientific papers looking forward to a calm weekend.

What are your plans for today?
Holiday? What is this in honour of? I can't keep up to date with things... Oh wait - it must be May Day! (May Day is a holiday in Germany?) :umm:

Oh , Misery-- you are part of this family- the Ka-tet. Never would one think you wanted to "take over". I personally enjoy all your posts. Yep, I'm one of those old timers. The SKMB is a very special MB- nope, that's not the correct word- family is the word that describes the SKMB. Keep on posting. I want to read your thoughts. Love and green lights!!
