I am an idiot. I don't know if my start date is this monday or next. I was sleeping when he called, I scribbled something down, I wrote my parking spot number and that my computer wont be in until April 8th.
Did he say a start date of the 13th? Damn.
I emailed him late yesterday but did not get a reply. So do I look like a fool and show up a week early? Or IS it a week early?
Too much happening too fast. Idiot.

First: I hear you. If you're an idiot, then welcome to the club.

Second: You've got the job. Stop. And. Enjoy. Knowing. It. It occurs to me that bosses, especially executive ones, are so used to this very type of mistake as to be expecting it, no matter who you think you are.

Third: If it were me I'd plan to set the Monday morning alarm so as to be awake early enough to get ready to start your new job, then wake up, relax, breathe, not necessarily in that order as another order's arguably better, and call your job and find out when you start.

Okay, but the job is far, I would have to be on the road to make it there for when they get in to call. 2nd - the lease. This guy want me to move this week. With a later start date, I don't think I can make the $. I am not ready. I have all this stuff. with no help moving, I will sell. it With a later start date I will have to pay this rent again.
He won't hold this new place, I am sure. And he wants to know today. If he could hold it a month it would work. Breathe. I have one month to find a place to live. If I did not call a lawyer, they would have renewed my rent here. Now they hate me.

I am just going to pull the covers back up.

First: They will understand what happened. Listen to me! Go back and reread, dammit.

Second: Screw (not literally) your landlord, he needs to hate himself, and so then lives to make hell for other people. I say select out of the stuff you would rather take with you but must sell, then find a way to take the rest with you.

Third: So, tell him that's your plan and it will take a few days.

NN- you may have missed my post in Whereforth last evening..
When is rent due at the cabinet falling place? Do you like the condo and is it within your budget for the new job-- is it in a good location for the new job?
You already know you have limited time at the cabinet place as you have an evic notice.
Are other places available and within budget fort he new job-- meaning, is it better to continue to search for another place near the new work, or take the condo>

Moving- if you pay rent for the condo/ how soon can you move in?
Any way you can rent a UHaul truck to move your items-- won't it cost you to replace if you do not move them??
Could you contact a church or local day labor to get some help with moving your stuff in the UHaul?

Just throwing out a ton of questions to help you figure pros and cons. Good Luck!!

Can you call your new boss and use a positive of " I'm just cking to make sure of the start date and time for the job." Do you have his cell? Does the workplace work on Saturdays?

Looks like a GREAT breakfast (and reminds me to pick up some sweet bread when I go to Rancho Market later today--we buy most of our veggies when local produce isn't available and a lot of our meat at the Mexican market here :) )

You're right about them getting excited. The concentration he pours into this game is uncanny. When he tries to explain it to me, I just kind of hear buzzing noises after a while and try to took interested and nod my head every now and then.
I do that when my younger daughter starts in on musical theater. I suppose when you grow up listening to NIN and Metallica, the only way to rebel is to go full on showtunes--lol. Her dad will occasionally take one for the team and watch Les Miserables with her (I just can't), but I'm the one who listens & nods when she talks for hours about different productions.

I've still got some old D&D modules from the early 80's. They are the ones that were published in England before it became big over here in the U.S. I can't remember where I bought them but they're still in pretty good condition surprisingly. I've tried showing them to my son. He likes books but just rolls his eyes at those old D&D books.....darn youngsters.....
I have a set of dice, still in the bag, from 1983 :)

LMAO. Yeah, guilty as charged. Apparently, according to the guy who runs the gaming lobby my son attends, there are still people who play the old school D&D module game, but there just isn't any way to have time nowadays. We used to have marathon sessions that would last 24 hours sometimes. Those were the days.
But did you play Recon, too? lol I hung out with a bunch of guys who played both, and I was actually better at that one (thank you, Dad, for being a military history buff and Vietnam vet--we had all kinds of books around the house on that stuff :D)
