Thanks all for the well-wishes. The green lights of the Tet shine bright.
The irony of having a house fire during such heavy flooding made the papers. The fire claim amid all the flood damage caught the attention of the insurance adjuster, who's already come and gone. They're just waiting for the official word from the fire marshal about the cause (outlet) tomorrow (hopefully) and they'll process our paperwork. Remarkably fast, I think.
We and the surviving critters are couch surfing with my daughter and son in law in the meantime. They're generous with their apartment, but we'll all be glad when it's over. They have so little space of their own. I feel like a total burden.
Hopefully the rebuild will be quick.

Speaking of rebuilds... it looks like ye olde cantina got a fresh coat of paint and a sweep out. Looks good. A few plants and books on the shelf and the place will be good as new.
I have some elephant ears I could bring...
:fox:
Lepplady, My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. I am glad that you're safe.

Wow. Love what yez done with the place. Is that one of them new fangled internet juke boxes? Sweet.

Anyhoo, a round on me! Set em up, Joe. Got me a job offer call today from the largest orthopedic implant corporation on earth. I could be making some serious bucks really soon. I'm totally freaking out! In a good way. Big wet sloppy kisses all around. Lord, fingers crossed. There will be water if God wills it, aye?
Best of luck!

Well, seems as if a whole bunch of us are having such a hard time right now. Hope you all know that you are in my thoughts and prayers every day. :love_heart:

Our streak of bad luck (or, just LIFE, if I'm trying to stay positive ;)) just keeps on truckin' along. Fuel pump is out on Scott's truck. Have one coming but he has been driving my car and my driveway looks like an auto repair shop. Had to remove the bed to get to the pump.

Someone at some point in the last 2 weeks put a nice dent in my passenger side front door. Looks like someone rammed a shopping cart into it or kicked it.

Then we discovered the outside spigot that is hooked up to the cooler was broken and spraying water inside the house. And had been, for days. Where it is on the outside of the house corresponds to the crawl space under the stairs. Access panel is in my library, and we don't use that space for anything, so I, of course, had a bookshelf in front of that panel. I walked in my library and the carpet was wet and the freaking drywall, too. :facepalm_smiley:

Ali cut her hair again. :facepalm_smiley::facepalm_smiley: At least, I think she did. One side is 2 inches shorter. She just keeps saying she doesn't know how it happened (not, no I didn't cut my hair) so I am pretty sure she is lying to protect her little friend from across the street...I think they did it together. Lying is only going to make it so, so much worse. Guess it is time for that life lesson. But really? She didn't learn her lesson the last time she cut it? Kids!!

And then the whole bank snafu, which did end up causing us problems. There were more transactions that did the disappearing act than I thought.

So, like I said, just life...but it seems to be coming fast and furious these days. I sure would like a calm few months. Or weeks. Even a couple days. ;)

But, we are pretty blessed in the grand scheme. I try to remind myself of that. Some days I do better than others. ;)

Anyway, that is what has been happening 'round here lately. ;-D

Hope you all have a really good day. Big hugs and positive vibes to all!! :love_heart:

Tina, Sending you tons of calming vibes and hugs. I can relate on the car issues, I went through that last week. Brakes/rotors air filters/spark plugs and finally a crack in the fuel tank where the gas nozzle goes....grr now it is the air cond pump/belt squeaking. I hope everything your way turns around for the better.

Thanks everyone, for the good wishes!

I just heard back from a nurse at the dr office. The markers were negative for lupus and RA. :applause: She said one of the markers was elevated, so that means I have inflammation going on, but no infections. So, that is 99% good news, I will take it. :D

She asked if I wanted to make an appointment to talk everything over with the doctor but I said we had talked about it during my visit last week and I was to just keep her posted on pain levels, since right now it responds ok to OTC meds. Most of the time, anyway.

That is a pretty big weight off. :)
