Update - thanks Sharon.

Hi guys. Getting very nervous. Tomorrow is last day on this job. Can't believe the project was put on hold, I thought I could buy myself a few months till I got something perm.

Job interview went really well until I totally blew the test that they gave. I don't know what happened. This is something I normally can do in a half hour or so. I blew it. So embarrassing. I don't expect to get an offer, even thou I would be a great fit there. Cant blame em, although I have not heard back from the recruiter about it. Arrgh, Got lost going there and coming back. Guess it was not my day.
Took me 2 hours to get there and 2 to get back. According to Mapquest
- 45 min. Pa turnpike, traffic. uh no. (especially since I went the wrong way on the way back)
cant turn back for 20 miles. arrrrrr.

So then, Phone interview yesterday with another place that sounds really cool. I dunno. Guy sounded nice, I told him that I did not work with the software that they use. (Adobe Illustrator) He said, "I will buy Solidworks (my software) in a minute! I want to start using that! Told him I am not an engineer, just design/draft. He said fine. okay then. Wanted to get that out there.

I dunno. I will go and see. This is more Graphic Design then mechanical that I do.

Talked to another recruiter today, she is sending resume to a place in King of Prussia, not too far. Waiting to hear what she says. She is trying to get interview for next week.

In the meantime I am applying to everywhere, everyplace. I feel like that scene in Kramer vs. Kramer when he barges into a place wanting a job right now.

I am not going to panic until after Monday.

Whew. this sucks big-big
I hear ya. I've been trying to make a discrete exit from law enforcement for over two years now and I would have thought that 17 years on the job would have been a good theme on my resume, "Hey look at me, I'm reliable and boring!" I've been to countless interviews, but I'm starting to get the distinct impression that I'm too 1)Old, 2)Overweight, or both. Granted, I haven't been to job interviews in almost two decades, so I may come off sounding like a total tool.....Shaddap GNT........but I find it hard trying to answer potential employers questions. I'm very jaded after being in LE for so long, so some of the interview questions seem kind of comical to me at times. I try very hard not to snicker or get a dumb look on my face....Shaddap GNT.....but I get to thinking about how one of my co-workers would probably say something about the interviewer's mother or something after one of the questions. I don't know, I just didn't think it would be this difficult to exit LE.....lol

Maybe it's something of a brave(!) new world out here. Maybe this will help...

Tis a happy place here in the SKMB, so it is. I was reading and posting a bit tonight and my very observant 11 year old daughter must have been watching. And she said "Mom, you're smiling. You haven't smiled in a long time." Now there's a "truthy truth" to quote skimom2 . I cleaned bathrooms tonight too. Here's to smiling and clean bathrooms! I hadn't noticed, but no, I guess I haven't smiled much in a long while. But, gosh, it feels good.

Their little girl was born with a birthmark, so mom and dad got matching tattoos.
