I never get headaches, and I really never get sick. And today, of all days, when I need to spend the entire day with headphones on and people talking in my ears while I type it up, my head feels like it's about the explode. This can't happen today. I've taken 2 advil cold & sinus, 2 regular advil, had 3 cups of coffee, several glasses of water. I've eaten, I've had my vitamins. What else? How do you get rid of a headache fast? I'm going to lie down with a cold rag on my head for a bit, but I can't have this happen today. I'm just going to have to get through it. It must be awful to suffer migraines.
Listening to doctors through headphones can be pretty weird at times, but I do enjoy my job. I am sorry to hear you are under the weather, HollyGolightly! The last thing you need is trying to type while people are dictating. Do you have a foot pedal? Can you rewind and fast forward or pause the sound with your foot? That helps a lot :cheerful::thumbs_up: - I hope you feel better soon :ill:

Oh my! I can relate somewhat. We live in a building that has only 4 apartments. When we first moved in here in July, we had a couple who lived across the hall who were a bit strange. All they did was badmouth the landlord, and tell us to be careful because they had so many break ins here. It got so I was jumping out of my skin at every little sound I heard. One day we had to go out so there was no one home, and when I left my ipod was on my nightstand. Both the apartment door and outside entrance doors were locked. When I got home, I couldn't find it so I blamed the cat for playing with it. I was still unpacking things and next day and I couldn't find my jewellery. Long story short - couple of weeks later I was having a yard sale and the tenant downstairs and I were chatting. She asked me a question about iTunes download and I mentioned that I had somehow misplaced my ipod. Turned out that the tenants across the hall had come into our apartment and were taking things. She had bought an ipod from them which turned out to be mine. The female of the pair across the hall was this lady's daughter, by the way. She very kindly insisted I take it back. They have since moved out, and the outside lock has been changed but I still get a bit nervous here when I'm alone.
Oh wow - glad you got your stuff back SharonC - did you ever recover the jewellery? :cower::icon_eek: oops - never mind - I posted this before I saw your update - good thing they did not grab any very valuable stuff, just the sentimental type.

My birthstone is a diamond and I have a couple of pieces I hide away and keep for special occasions - it would really bother me if those went missing

Hey Grandpa - did everything come out okay? (What I mean is - did your lovely wife survive the blistering hot chili pepper meal?) I hope you had some milk on hand to counteract it
:biggrin2:

This is not a good sign. I mean, someone is reading at least some of my posts and remembering at least some of what I write. This behavior cannot be tolerated.

Anyway, Neesers, it's a little complicated, and I say that as a guy who just wants to say "I went out to the backyard and put a tarp away" but turns it into an essay. But basically, yes, the dinner and its aftermath went fine, it didn't give her any major problems like the anticipated Ring of Fire the next day.

But she was not feeling well for reasons not having to do with the chili, ate the chili in hopes that the nutritional (if fiery) goodness would help her out, and went in to work the next day and toughed it out because her work ethic is off the charts.

I met her when she came home, brought in a grilled cheese and soup from our favorite place, catered to her, cleaned the kitchen, put the dishes away and reloaded the dishwasher, made sure the TV was on what she wanted to watch for the night, basically just let her rest and try to recover, and put her to bed, where I should join her shortly.

However, the remains of the chili verde are packed up as a lunch for me. I don't want to feed it to her again until I can learn to tone down the recipe by a heat octave or three.

She's a lucky lady - you sound like a "keeper"!

I got:

Nothing.
You have no amazing qualities. You are bland and boring.

What I actually got was:

Heartfelt Love
You probably know this about yourself, but you tend to have indescribable passion and affection. You naturally create friendships that are full of love and loyalty, and can never be cut apart. You're the Symbol of Love to everyone, and your love can transform lives!

Um, what ??? That's news to me, but hey, I'll roll with it.

It was quite a co-incidence that I was wearing my engagement ring. I have lost so much weight because of my illness that I wasn't wearing it for awhile cause I didn't want to lose it, and it was just when we moved I started wearing it again.

Thank you honey. I wonder if the headphones had anything to do with my headache. Could be, it's not something I'm asked to do very often. I've got two more full days of it, and then I think I'm done. I do have a foot pedal, definitely helps. I don't know that I could do that every day - you do hard work, girl.

OoO's ear tip helped. Try it the next time you have a headache. I was impressed and will use it on the next person in my house with a headache. It did the trick.

SharonC I'm so sorry that happened to you and glad they're gone. Can you imagine how the mother must have felt? I'd be so pi$$ed and disappointed in a child of mine who did something like that. I'm glad she gave it back.

morgan Sorry to hear Sadie's test didn't come back good (((morgan & Sadie)))

Hope everyone's doing well. I don't get much time on here until this project's done, but I'm thinking of you all.

Keep us in your prayers. We find out on Friday what the future holds for the Ogre's job. They've been outsourcing several positions over the past few years and he's missed the chopping block, but I don't know if that'll be the case this year. We've been living tightly and trying to prepare, but I know it will do a number on his spirit if he gets laid off. We need your prayers - (St. Joseph, St. Anthony, St. Judith are all good for our family to call on - all this is Catholic mojo), any prayers are good and welcome.

Sending get well wishes to Grandpa's wife....May she feel better soon.
Appreciate it! She's actually calling in sick today. I'm dawdling getting out of the house to see that she's catered to, but then I gotta go make some money.
