The gardens are beautiful. One can only dream to have such beauty around them. There is a group of peacocks in the development behind me. Guard birds!! Thankee so much Scott.
These guys look fantastic when doing their mating display but they have a downside.
We discovered when we lived next to an estate in Scotland that had 20+ peacocks, just how are incredibly loud they are.
I had a petrol mower with a noise rating of 98 decibels, and I could still hear them when mowing!
So you can imagine being woken by their "dawn chorus" at 4.30 am in mid summer did not make for me being a happy bunny. So they are not my favourite bird!(unless served in a basket with chips)
...same pose as when we had our first date at Kingwood 21 years ago....

That's because the Bombshell and Feefster are great with cameras!
I swear I am telling the complete truth. You won't find a bigger skeptic than me, and I stayed in the room and looked around for any possible source of sounds but I could not find a reasonable explanation and I could not get the sound to replicate itself. A remarkable experience, more exciting than chilling, although if I think about it too much I might get the creeps!

I am soooo envious! My sister and I have gone to so many reportedly haunted buildings and we've felt cold spots, gotten bad headaches and felt sick but haven't ever heard anything. I'm happy for you to for your experience.
Looks like everyone had a good time, that's great! I couldn't talk babe into us going, due to the short notice and all, but I was sending happy thoughts!

This photo is seriously eerie, I love it! The perspective point make it look like the cells go on for miles. And the flaking paint on the corroded metal bars give the impression that all is lost. This is how a jail should look.

....now, as Tracy and I prepare to head back to Cambridge-I want to take a moment to say again, how very honored I was to meet all the Tet who could make it to Mansfield....we are a special group and it humbles me to have been in your midst...we enjoyed every minute of our time together-and special hugs to Deb, Rissa and Nate....this Kon was only a success because ALL of you traveled to be there...not because of anything I did....we had members from Colorado, Vermont/New Hampshire, Arizona and Canada....again, I love you all so much and thank you for all the kind words...one other thing, this group has decided on the next Kon in 2016 in Colorado....if others wish to do something sooner-then by all means, but our crew is going to save it's pennies and head for the Stanley....
