This might be complete rumor, but someone told me several years ago that Steven Spielberg has owned the movie rights to Talisman for a long time but has not developed it ye?? Ms. Mod, like I said, I don't even remember who told me this or exactly when so it may be completely untrue....or perhaps I just think I remember being told that...

Yes, that does sound familiar.

Makes me wonder why a movie has not been made as yet. But yeah...loved that scene where he yells in the guy's face I was going to go right back! Or howsoever it went.

Are you talking about at the start,
when Jack is with the Captain of the Guards, and Osmond has Jack pegged? And Jack is freaking out, hears his mom in his head saying he can't possibly wuss out to this pansy in front of him, and he hitches in that massive breath and lets it go in Osmond's ear?

I love that, too.

Yeah...that's the scene. Heh! Reminds me of so many scenes from ago. There was this once, a streetlight on the backstreet by the house had been...vandalized. Seems one of our troubled youth had taken a B*B-gun and shot out the glass bulb. Parents are sitting around the kitchen table after supper, they are theorizing what could have happened. Little brother is there in the usual spot trying to hide some beans under his plate. Parents are going on and on about the light, little brother is becoming more and more agitated. Finally he let's go, I DID IT! I SHOT IT WITH MY BB-GUN! Commences to bawl. Then he lifts his plate to reveal smushed beans underneath. The household lost its 2nd Article rights. Years later, after things had cooled down, little brother learned that the parents weren't using psychology on him...they had no idea how the light was vandalized. The Talisman is a favorite...lighting out for the Territories. The variation on the stray dog theme. Who could ask for more?

Just finished this at the weekend. What a ride! I couldn't put it down! Loved (and hated) all the characters.. Wolf! :'( I got so sucked into this book, I didn't really see or speak to anybody for a week. lol. I feel i miss the characters already. Have just started reading Black House, RIGHT HERE AND NOW!
I haven't read the Dark Tower series yet, but I'm guessing I just got a glimpse into King's world of fantasy, and I loved it :)
Can you give me hallelujah?

Jam- That first time is so sweet. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm currently in it, with only a few nights left.

Hope you enjoy Black House. I was disappointed after waiting so long for a sequel, but my expectations were probably a bit too high. It's still pretty good.

Highly recommend the Dark Tower stuff. If you dug Jacky, Wolf, the Territories and good old Bloat, you're bound to dig the series. The connections are really fun.
