I always get a chuckle at the political cartoons based on UTD.
Wonder what PETA thinks about that!
I hope you're right. Personally I'm getting fed up with all the doodads and woohoos on tv. We watch shows as a family, and while I don't actually object to my teen son seeing that stuff if it relates to the story, all the random scenes make him uncomfortable and he does not want to watch it with his mom and dad in the room.
Even as a teen, he gets the difference.
It is so cool! I keep looking for Uncle Stevie...
I saw him...
Was a good episode
Great episode done in true SK style!!
yes, awesome, can"t wait for next week.
Anyone else catch the Dark Tower reference? What about Steve's appearance?
Do you mean the painting of what appeared to be a door? That was probably my favorite part of the episode (after SK's cameo of course!).
Oh this is so frustrating! Our TV ads have been saying "Coming Soon" for a while now... when, dammit?! *Mumble-swear*
I never start watching an adaptation expecting it to be really close. I figure why go to the trouble if its just like the book. Thats just me though. I was able to watch it-and Haven too without those 'wait-a-minute-thats-not in-the-book' moments. So I was able to enjoy it all for the entertainment it is, and isnt that why we watch it anyway?
I'm there with you. I get uncomfortable with full nudity in mixed company as well. But what you are talking about is on cable TV. CBS is network TV and like I said, a bare butt is about all you'll see.
I gave it a chance, and I did like the season 2 premiere! Will keep watching the rest of the season to see how it goes! Enjoyed SK's cameo, too.
I thought I would be able to watch UTD in peace with my 13 year old daughter staying over at a friends house last night and not be bombarded with all kinds of questions. Not! Kept getting texts from her during the show. Some of my favorite exchanges (don't look if you haven't seen it yet)...
Linda could still be alive right?
The dome coulda saved her
The dome ain’t Mother Theresa
Look it up!

I saw Stephen King
Not a big part
That’s why it’s called a cameo
Look it up!

Why did they kill Angie
That’s what happens when you serve Stephen King a bad cup of coffee
Should I just text mom
I personally am not a fan. Especially with how awesome the book is. However, the acting/mood is well done IMO and it became a life of its own and is a piece of American movie history. Whenever it comes up in conversation, I always advise that the novel MUST be read, and that the little known TV series was closer to the novel.
IMO this "interpretation" of UTD is just garbage and the moment it gets cancelled it wont be remembered by anyone fondly.
I love the new direction SK took the story into He created a great one-episode story within the ongoing series story and even answered some of the questions we'd had I hope we can look forward to more episodes that don't follow the novel exactly. I'm glad SK decided to swerve from the path. I'm also glad Eddie Cahill joined the cast. This should be an interesting season
Steve shared with me some of the things that will be happening in future episodes after we'd watched last night's premiere. Definitely not the book but I'm excited to see how it plays out on screen.
I suspect you're not going to give us any hints You are such a tease
