Gotta love that outfit! THAT is exactly the look I mean when I say Lady Gaga has referenced her.

Gaga thanked both Prince and Madonna in the liner notes on her first cd. She paid tribute to Prince in the song 'Monster', it's totally got that early Prince groove going on. Gaga knows her musical roots. She got the talent to back her up- singing, acting, dancing- she a triple-threat! Now singing with Tony Bennett, she's giving herself even more credentials and branching out into other musical styles (for us anyway, she's always done the old standards).I absolutely remember the group and her (I still listen to them!). And that's what I mean about Gaga looking to the past. I am positive she has knowingly channeled Ms. Bozzio in some of her outfits.
The story that I heard is that Dale Bozio was 'discovered' singing background for Frank Zappa. The techies kept hearing this 'hiccuping' sound when they were recording/mixing and finally narrowed it down to Dale's singing. The rest is musical history.....Love that song.

That's funny! She was married to Zappa's drummer, Terry Bozzio. The story that I heard is that Dale Bozio was 'discovered' singing background for Frank Zappa. My new favourite phrase. (But don't say that s-word in my classroom, or you'll get into trouble.)vacuum suck
No problem....thanks for turning me onto some acts that this old fart wasn't aware of....that's the kind of style I grew up with-just with a modern twist....
I love the group Berlin. Their first album was called Pleasure Victim. The lead singer's name is Terri Nunn and she was an actress even before being in Berlin. She's one of the two teens who Try to win KISS tickets in the movie Thank God It's Friday.
