I did not watch the awards. However, seeing Miley Cyrus costumes are kind of beyond attention grabbing..borderline too trashy for television.

I didn't watch (that girl's voice goes right through me and I probably never heard most of the music anyway).
My daughter saw some of it and said Miley looked like trash as usual. I reminded her that when celebrities have no talent they have to resort to other ways of getting attention.

She has run out ways to be provocative, we've seen it all now, it's quite sad watching her trying pathetically to outdo herself again and again when we've become so accustomed to her making a fool of herself.
...best part was, one trash-a-ho calling another out....
I actually think she's quite talented; her voice is very pretty to me.
She's just going for the shock value, knowing that everyone will talk about her.
She doesn't care what anyone thinks, which isn't always a bad thing.
Not unlike Madonna was in her day.

I have to say her voice is lost on me, she irritates me too much!
I understand. She's not the world's greatest singer, but I
like the sound of it. Just different tastes.

Her speaking voice irritates me more than her singing voice. She sounds like she was born with a cigarette in her mouth.
I don't listen to her music. I always thought her skank moves were a brilliant way to shed the Disney image. She should balance out in the middle of those 2 extremes sometimes in the near future.
...hate to say it, but the only reason she gets attention now-is because she's become a cartoon of her own skankishness....
I just wish they hadn't put the highlights(?) at the end of our 6:00pm news last night. My 7-year-old boy causes me enough grief at school without him emulating shooting rockets (yeah right) out of his crotch. 
I hated that the damn show was on, like, eight channels of my direct tv. Man, I only need one channel not to watch, not eight. That's total B.S.! Did it really need to be on Comedy Central? Or CMT? Or LOGO? Or VH1? They already had two dang MTVs to use. Arrgghh!
I tuned into my beloved TCM. Had THEY been showing it too I woulda pulled an Elvis and shot the damn TV.

Gotta say, she did a good job on new years eve with it. And she had clothes on.

Last time I watched the VMA awards, this was the highlight of the show.
