Oh Gawd... she (Morgan) has a point. :icon_eek: (I'm cooking a pork roast right now--don't tell Shasta)
Hey Shasta!...
Shasta and I are both vegetarians-I've been one for 17 years! I actually do make meat dishes for others because I've never been one to push any of my beliefs onto anyone else! So...I love all of you bacon eaters too! I'm incredibly generous like that! ;;D

For want of a better word, my husband and I are "foodies" (I really do hate that word) so we've eaten some pretty strange things over the years. I've eaten parts of an animal people would turn green at if I mentioned. Perhaps the strangest but most delicious one is

something in Italy called pajata alla finta. It is a pasta dressed with a tomato sauce and tossed with the cooked intestines of calves (a by-product of the veal industry. In Italy they eat every part of the animal; no waste). The intestines still have the mother's milk in them so that when it is tossed with the hot pasta, it becomes creamy and cheese like.

I warned you!

When my parents were living here I used to cook some. I made a stew a few times which I put orange and apple slices in. My mom didn't like it, mostly didn't understand it I think. Dad liked it.
You should try a soup called "Mulligatawny" - I just love it and it has apple in it (usually green apple). (Plus you can make a vegetarian version of it by leaving the chicken out).
