Cheese on cheese - I like it! I think Aldi has the best cottage cheese ever. It's consistently good - you know how sometimes other brands don't always taste the same? Or is it just me?

Aldi has some great basil pesto. Usually in a jar, great on breads or in pasta. They also have good quality noodles from italy or bronze cut ones inexpensive. Yum.. I will have to try their cottage cheese.

Never heard of Aldi-is it a smaller curd and on the drier side? That's the only cottage cheese I remotely like!
It is small curd, not too saucy. Aldi is a no-nonsense grocery chain. You have to bring a quarter to get your cart, but you get it back when you put your cart in place. You have to bring your own bags or buy them. They don't accept credit cards, only debit or cash. I like them for the things I can't get at Costco or I just don't want in huge quantities. Better prices than Wal-Mart. Many things are generic though, which I don't mind when it comes to dairy, bread, baking supplies and frozen veggies.

Oh yes - I love the sundried tomato pesto. I forgot about that. Their line of Italian stuff is great. I usually get the kid's lunch junk there too: mini blueberry muffins, peanut butter crackers, slim jims. You need to use their cottage cheese with your ketchup. I might try that. Very close to mac & cheese with ketchup.

It is no frills for sure. I don't think they take coupons, but that is okay. Also, speaking of lunch stuff for the kids, our local dollar store carries individual sized chips, peanut butter crackers, even fresh bread and some staples. Makes school lunches more healthy and economical.

It is interesting though, because the packaging looks close to Kraft or other brand names but are fairly good quality.

:applause:

When I was pregnant, I would make myself a great big salad and drown it in Italian herbs and spices salad dressing. I would then get a slice of spice cake with butter cream icing and crumble it into my salad. Yay! It was so yummy! (My husband and brothers would sit and watch me throw a munch. Ha) ( I remember it was yummy but I never ate it after I gave birth.)

This was my husbands weird concoction. (He wasn't pregnant.)

He would FRY a can of peas (drained) and add eggs and scramble it up and make tacos. :barf:

Our son loved it.:uncomfortableness:

Peace.
