Yes this is true, but I am just wondering what she means by it, I do not have the book of Reuben to,reference
Reuben and his wife married young and she wasn't really happy with him from the start. She went off to college, he was a small-town boy, and she began to feel smothered by him, better than him... she turned to religion and had an affair with a local minister, and IIRC ran off with him? She is a short-tempered woman--though she loved her kids, she couldn't take any more of Reuben....it's just one of those things.

Thank you, so Sam is Rubens bio child right, and Indy is the child with pearl and Reuben. Did Pearl get pregnant before they got married.

I fell back on an old child fave of mine and reread a Three Investigators story: The Mystery Of The Silver Spider. I can see why i liked that series so much back then. In their way i think they hold up still. Not bad for a youth mystery novel written in the early 70-ties.
Oh wow! Haven't thought about that series in ages. I think my favorite was The Mystery of the Stuttering Parrot!
to to to be or not 222B!
;-D

I stayed on that track for awhile. Followed up with The Stuttering Parrot, The Whispering Mummy and The Green Ghost. A little wave of nostalghia came over me and i just felt i had to read something from days gone by.

What the Night Knows by Dean Koontz - I had given up on Koontz quite a few years ago because his stuff got too...let's just call it religiously inspired. Anyway, I thought this one sounded interesting and has pretty good reviews so I decided to risk it. Chapter 20 and it has built some pretty decent terror. Let's hope he follows through!

I just finished a re-read of Desperation. Had not read it since it came out, so I only very vaguely remembered things. It just is never going to be a favorite of mine.

Guess that's ok, though. Can't love them all. :)

This is so funny because it absolutely is one of my favorites. I haven't re-read it since original publication but I might try the audiobook version as a refresher. I feel like I get something new out of a book when I listen to it.
