Oh, Neesy, you have to read this book! Just so you can say that you have read it, at least. But, I think you will enjoy the story and the rich atmosphere that Bram created. It's a nice glimpse into another time.

I've read it and liked it. Like most classics there were parts you just had to wade through, but it was definitely worth the read.

I was watching Shawshank Redemption recently and I enjoyed the part where they are going through the books that had arrived for the Prison library.

One inmate says "Alexandre Dumas" but pronounces it wrong - that was a good scene - quite funny. Andy tells the guy he should read it - it is about a guy who escapes from prison (The Count of Monte Cristo). That is another classic book I would like to read some day.

I'm currently reading Doctor Sleep and listening to the audio book of 'Double Feature' by Owen King.

Hey Evil Queen - nice to see you! You have not been around much lately. How are you liking 'Double Feature'?

Hi! :) I know, I make my way over here more often. Double Feature is very humorous at times. Right now I'm at a part where I'm thinking-OMG! What's happening?....some parts are strange, though, I can't wait to find out how it ends.

The Count of Monte Cristo is also on my reading list. I'd like to read more classics, but some are a bit daunting.

Haunted This is my favorite place

While in the hospital finished The Swan Thieves by Kostova, was not sure she could grab me with this story as she did with The Historian but she managed to and left me with a lot to think aboutl!! Recommend both of these books to all!

I am halfway through The Goldfinch. I am really liking it now, but I wasn't sure at the start. It is dark and melancholy but I really feel for Theo, the main character. We will see if I feel the same about him at the end!

While recently reading 'Salem's Lot I decided I heeded to read Dracula, which I've got about 1/4" left of. It's really interesting and much better than any vampire movies I've ever seen. One's got to get used to the author's style with the English language, but that's to be expected, it having been published 1897.

Reading "Never Look Away" by Linwood Barclay. This is a real page turner. I think that I read that SK likes this author.

I hope to be starting that soon myself. I've had a paperback copy for 15 years or so but have never read it. Might have to get a trade paperback though so I don't have to squint so much.

Break down and buy some of those reading glasses - I find the 1.50 strength is just perfect for small print

Also reading The Goldfinch. The more I read, the faster I desire to turn the pages. Very involved with the main character.
