Kincaid is a retired FBI agent and a single dad. I love when he writes about him. Did you read his earlier book called The Blue Nowhere?
I just looked it up because I couldn't remember. I think so-unless he has another novel about a computer hacker. I read it a long time ago, but I recall a very suspenseful ending!

I have started re-reading Hearts in Atlantis (a bit at a time) and I find it interesting that Ted recommends the book "Lord of the Flies" - it is funny but we HAD to read this in high school English and I did not enjoy it at that time.

Perhaps I should read this one (I will have to get it from the library) to see how it compares so many years on.
LOTF is one of my favourite books of all time. :)

There is a difference between being made to read something and choosing to do so for pleasure!

I finished The Kill Room. WOW! Deaver can make your emotions lie down and roll over. Talk about being wrong about the characters, I could not have more been.
I am now re-reading Manhattan Hunt Club by John Saul. I do not like his writing except for this one book. It is just my type...homeless folks, crime, and the subway places in New York where those folks find shelter....and intrigue.

Not a fan of Saul's but from what you have described, I'll have to check this one out.

Didn't Uncle Stevie sing Nick Cutter's praises?

I'm going to read The Troop based on that recommendation. If it sucks, I'll be coming for you, Uncle Stevie. I'll be coming for you!
To quote Steve from his front cover blurb: 'The Troop scared the h*ll out of me, and I couldn't put it down. This is old-school horror at its best. Not for the faint-hearted, but for the rest of us sick puppies,it's a perfect gift for a winter night.'
