I was off for almost 2 weeks over the holidays and almost constant reading was my main goal. I succeeded for the most part but now it is trying to snatch a few pages here and there throughout the day. I'm still reading We Are Water by, Wally Lamb. It's an interesting take on the story of a couple married for the better part of 3 decades, they divorce when the wife falls in love with another woman. So far each chapter alternates between the man and woman giving their accounts of their lives together as the day of a new wedding quickly approaches.

And I've started The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by, Michael Chabon. His books are always a treat!!

Still percolating through McCammon, but I picked up a library book yesterday that's just captured me: Sleep, Pale Sister (Joanne Harris). I thought I'd read all of hers, but I hadn't even heard of this one. It's fascinating and creepygood! My brain has already cast actors for the main parts--lol. Apparently it was first released in the UK in 1994, but didn't get a US release until years later (after Chocolat). GREAT story so far!

Just downloaded Sleep, Pale Sister on my Kindle...only $1.99! Thanks for the recommendation!

Hellbound Heart went from "the book I will read while walking to and from work instead of a big hardback one" to "I just sat and read the entire thing in bed instead".
Great, short story. I was surprised by how closely the film plot of Hellraiser followed the book too.

Scarlet Gospels can't come soon enough for me!

I started Joe Hill's 20th Century Ghosts on my Kindle now as the new "book I will read while walking to and from work". Hopefully with it being short stories, I will be able to resist just blitzing through the entire thing! ;-D

I'm working through "22/11/63" on my new Xmas Kindle :)
God I loved that book :)
I knew literally nothing about it, I didn't even read the blurb.
I picked it up through recommendations from a SK Facebook page (that might have been what kickstarted my SK collecting binge actually) and was literally blown away.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Me, too - I did not hear about if from FB, just a newspaper insert reviewing books. I came here (SKMB) eventually somehow or other, after reading 11/22/63.

Finished "Desert God" by Wilbur Smith. What a relief to see a return to his "old style" story. I enjoy the ancient Egyptian setting, and the story flowed well. The ending seemed a little rushed, but I don't want to be too picky. Overall, it was a good read.
