Love it. Definitely worth reading. Reminds me a lot of IT.That is on my soon to read list. How do you like the book, so far?

Katie is another good one!! I need to find a copy for my collection again....Just finished Up the Down Staircase. What a wonderful book. I'm about to start Katie by Michael McDowell. kingricefan turned me on to this author and everything I have read so far has been very satisfying. Looking forward to this one.
I am currently reading Ghost Story by Peter Straub.
Last night while reading, I suddenly sense a presence outside my bedroom door, then hear scratching at my door. Then hear a raspy whispery voice say “are you ready?” It was my spooky 7 year old niece asking me if I was ready to play with her, because I told her earlier I would play when I finished reading the chapter I was on.
Ghost Story is an amazing novel by an amazing novelist. Julia is another that will keep you looking in the dark corners. This book is getting to me. I was reading Ghost Story, and had just gotten through reading a scary scene , when I got summoned to do a late night run to the grocery store. When I'm getting ready to get in my car to drive home, it looks like their is someone sitting in the back passenger side of my car: a fire truck goes howling by instantly diverting my attention and when I look back in my car its empty so is the rest of the parking lot.
Have you read his Headhunters? LOVE that book, and the movie made from itJo Nesbo The Son. Very twisty and turny. Much better that his detective series. Just finished the EW exerpt of Finders Keepers. Can't wait for more.
Sorry, that was me. Had too much to drink at a bar and was too tired to walk all the way home so after checking numerous cars for an unlocked door I came across yours, crawled in and went to sleep. I'll send along some cash so you can get some new undies! This book is getting to me. Yet another to add to my list. I'm just going to have to quit my job to get all these books read. My wife should be ok with that, right?Ghost Story is an amazing novel by an amazing novelist. Julia is another that will keep you looking in the dark corners.

Yeah, I can see why someone wouldn't care for his writing style. I've always thought of him as the author equivalent of Stanley Kubrick.Though I've read several Straub books, Ghost Story is the only one I liked enough to read again. It really is well done. Not a big fan of his overall style.
Very apt--I don't like Kubrick much eitherYeah, I can see why someone wouldn't care for his writing style. I've always thought of him as the author equivalent of Stanley Kubrick.
He tends to get a little strange. I did love Floating Dragon....wow.Very apt--I don't like Kubrick much either
