Have 57 pages left of Game of Thrones and Clash of Kings is waiting in the wings. We don't have HBO so I've only seen snippets when they've had a free weekend as I didn't want to watch it out of order. I'd like to get through all of the books before trying to find it elsewhere on video to do a binge watch.

I very much like this book series, independent of the TV series. #4 was difficult to get in to, but well worth it when I finally did. He did an unusual thing with #4 and #5: #4 focusses on the 'lesser' characters, #5 is the 'bigger' characters' adventures, running simultaneously with #4, then the storylines come together again at the end of #5. It was different, but I ended up liking the way Martin handled such a big, sprawling cast. Wish he'd get #6 out :)

Yeah, its been kind of a long wait. Has read the five books and really liked them. Just kind of feel i want to read the books before i see the rest of the series especially since i understand that the scriptwriters now have written episodes that does not go along with his books. Saw the first season but stopped after that. Will probably watch eventually.

I picked up the box set on sale from Amazon last month. My TBR list was already a mile long, but they were too good to pass up.

You're very likely correct on when the pornyness started (lol). It's been years since I read any but the first one--I just re-read that one last year. I remember liking most of when they were in the camp, so I'm likely mixing up the order of the books in my old noggin :)
"pornyness" - that's cute!

I was shopping today and at the grocery store in the freezer aisle I saw "Popcorn Shrimp" - somehow my mind made the leap to porn shrimp :dunno:

I am reading some manga: Dr. Slump Vol. 1 by Akira Toriyama, Dragonball Vol. 7 by Akira Toriyama as well, and Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist Vol. 2 by Kazuki Takahashi.

I don't have any actual books going on right now. On a bit of a hiatus even though my Kindle has so many unread books on it that I can swear it is starting to bloat. My TBR stack of physical books has gotten so out of hand that passersby might think I live in a skyscraper, but I'm really just next to a tall stack of books.

I am currently reading Ghost Story by Peter Straub.

Last night while reading, I suddenly sense a presence outside my bedroom door, then hear scratching at my door. Then hear a raspy whispery voice say “are you ready?” It was my spooky 7 year old niece asking me if I was ready to play with her, because I told her earlier I would play when I finished reading the chapter I was on.

I would have jumped half a meter. Ghostly!

What are her initials, btw?

I'm getting my Fathers Day goodies early. Three books coming in next week, Clive Barker's Scarlet Gospels, Seveneves, by Neal Stephenson and a biography of Tennesee Williams, by John Lahr and finally on the second of next month, Finders Keepers.

And I'm right into Cloud Atlas, an amazing ride!
