Oh, I've got the biggest crush on Mary Shelley. You ever read her earliest known draft of Frankenstein? The one without Percys alterations and additions? If yer into rereads, check it out. It has a quicker pace and much more modern flow.
I read Frankenstein, but not sure which one. I didn't know there were two different. How do I know which one I read, Musk?

This is what I have, listed under Vintage Paperback Original Frankenstein. Has two versions, one with Percy, one without. It's great.

I can't believe that version has not been on my radar! I must search it out! Thank you for the tip!

Finally finished joe hill book HORNS. Not my favorite of his books the ending was really good i thought just the rest of the story dragged on,to much about there past and not enough of what was actually going on but it was ok. Not as good as heart shaped box or nas4a2 but not terrible either.

Auntie Mame (Patrick Dennis) is $1.99 on Amazon and iBooks today. I think several of us have mentioned that we liked either the book or movie (I like both :D).

I'm not sure, but did you get this info from Bookbub? If not, I think folks here would like it. Daily deals, like the one you mentioned; and , the occasional free book. These are all digital.

I think so. I get two different things with e-book deals--could have been BookBub or the other one I can't remember right now (lol)

Really? Sweet! I'd love to read that! HUGS! I'm going to download it right now. I finished McCammon's The Night Boat last night and have been at loose ends about the next one to start. Nothing felt right. Auntie Mame will be perfect. Sheesh I didn't even know it was a book.

A lovely little old Faust I picked up at the thrifty. I'm having a heck of a time identifying the year--it has to be 1950 or later, because that date is the latest on the title page (but not too far past, based on the font used), but it doesn't match the pictures of the 1950 edition on eBay. Weird. Anyway, I've never read it, so it's a good time to further my cultural edjumacation ;)

The Darkside of the Moon (England really)
For the past few weeks I've been looking at my books shelf and cases trying to decide. I still have so much king to read, but I was toying with the idea of a non SK book: a touch of frost by R.D Wingfield, heart shaped box, the exorcist, koko or mystery by Peter straub, or a James Herbert book. Then I started looking at my SK book case and was looking between Revival, finders keepers, from a Buick 8, needful things, Insomnia, dead zone etc. I ended up picking out duma key, still unsure though - I'll only get through a couple of pages tonight, too tired (I've been up 22 hours and that's on the back of 2 hours sleep the night before) so I might have changed my mind by tomorrow - I hate picking a new book.

You are going to love Duma Key the characters are just wonderful. Why are you not sleeping? This is most concerning. No wonder you cannot make a decision. Picking a new book is hard, there are so many stories to read, I usually just take a deep breath and reshuffle my TBR pile and grab, no thinking, just grab. Please get some rest.

I started reading Miss Perigrine's Home for Peculiar Children as it seems right up my alley. I also wanted to read it before Tim Burton's version hits the big screen. I'm about a 1/4 of the way in and it has yet to capture me. Maybe I'm just jaded to this genre since I've read it all my life? I also find that writing around the photos is a bit forced. I thought I would love the idea behind it but so far I just find it lackluster.

Side Note: This is the first hard copy of a book I have read in ages; I have been reading exclusively on my Kindle for quite some time now. I thought reading a hard copy of this book would be better for viewing the photos. Among other things: The other day I found myself wanting to tap on words so I could look them up in the dictionary. I also hate that I can't easily search for characters, place names, etc. like I can with my Kindle. Believe it or not, I also find it difficult to hold the book while reading in bed; the Kindle is much more user friendly for that. And lastly, I went to look for the book on my Kindle even though I don't own a digital version of it! I feel like the Kindle has become an organic part of me. A bit creepy, but kind of cool too.
