Yesterday finished cleaning and bagging plastic recycling so we don't have to worry about this particular lot harming marine life at least this time around. Did a hot wash with bleach for rags and towels, and handwashed items brought up from the basement and other items.

Today went to the basement again, finished sorting through and organizing yard sale bags, and brought up more items. Sorted through two boxes of items upstairs, separating Halloween from non-Halloween items, choosing which Halloween items to clean first and handwashing those. I even started repainting--great progress on the indoor jobs before tackling the outdoor! If this keeps up there is a very real and dangerous chance that I might actually get into a good mood and then no telling what may happen!

Ye gods, I’m still trying to get used to this #$&@! 3rd shift schedule. How vampires do it I’ll never know. Seems I no sooner sit down to watch a movie and I’m asleep, no matter how much sleep I’ve gotten. And lunch break at work sucks. I work right next door to an Arby’s, but it’s closed. Same way with the BP deli, and Buffalo Wild Wings. Dang it, us graveyard shifters like to eat too.

I am sipping beer in a hotel room in Medellin, Colombia. This is my first time in South America.

It's hilly, humid, and warm here. Not really hot, but warm. The rains come in suddenly, and the thunder is explosive, shattering. Then they're gone, and the cooling effect remains.

This is a more affluent part of town, I'm guessing. Not many side cafes with "Colombian" cuisine, whatever that may be. The beaneries around here offer Italian, Cuban, Morrocan, Mexican, Indian, burgers - just about anything, it would seem, from anywhere else.

The people are friendly, nice, but English is more of a foreign concept (nyuk!) here than, say, in Asian countries. After a couple tries of just pointing to something random on the menu that I can't read, I've learned to ask if they have a menu in English.

I'd enjoy it more here if I weren't quite so tired. I've had a lot of travel lately, and I agree, that is one unimpressive First World Problem, but I'm still tired from it, no matter what world we trace it to.

The work here was not hard, and that's good, because hearing it seems to cook out your soul. Not so long ago, this was the place that had real problems, the type we rarely hear of and can't comprehend in scope. It's fine now, or at least much better and unaffecting to this area. But... ugh.

Tomorrow is bioversary and my gift, of sorts, is having a day off. Everyone else finished up early and went home today, and my handlers said to go ahead, keep the return ticket I already have, and I get paid for the day tomorrow. Paid for not working, what a concept. I'm not sure if that will include a tourism jaunt or not. Maybe with a good night's sleep, I'll have better energy. Right now, I'm inclined to kick back, relax with getting just a little work done, and look forward to going home to the loving arms Friday morning.

Man, that sounds melancholy! If you read between the tones, I got it good, Ka-tet.

Grandpa, I advise some tasty foodstuffs and a few drinks enjoyed in your room or (if you have one) on the lanai. Take it easy and enjoy the warm and green. An early Happy Birthday to you. :love_heart:

So, I am doing something this weekend... going to my 30th high school reunion! o_O How did that happen?? Anyway, the family has other weekend plans as the reunion folks just found me and got me details a few weeks ago., so I am travelling solo and will get to enjoy some time with my mom around the reunion visit. Hope you have a great time! I'm going to my urk 50 urk 50th urk in November. Haven't been to one since my 20th so should be interesting. I recognize several of the times on the sign up list but haven't had contact with any of them since graduating.

:biggrin2: Same here with the contacts. I went to my 10th, so about the same time away as you. I will admit, I got out my senior yearbook to browse names and faces!
