Woke up with a banging headache - alcohol induced so brought it on myself.
Having watched West Ham Utd. getting beaten last night was enough to drive me to drink! LOL
At the moment I'm having the 'cure' or 'hair of the dog' as some would call it and waiting on a horse to win at Keeneland to win a nice bet.
Fingers crossed ;;D

Tsk tsk - you have something in common with my hubby Andrew (Andy) - I'm not a drinker but he does like his Scotch!

You do what ever you have to do Paddy. Nothing wrong with taking comfort at a time like this.
Hoping that you pass these next few days as easy as possible. Take care.

Didn't go anywhere today but yesterday I went for a group job interview at 11am - 12.30pm, they said we'd all be informed one way or the other within a week. They phoned me back at 3.30 and offered me a job.
Congratulations! I just got a lead on a new job to replace one of my jobs that was seasonal. I hope it is a great job where you are treated well and feel appreciated. The fact that they called you back so fast to offer the job is a great sign! :thumbs_up:

I had my niece over for dinner tonight. I don't know why we don't get together more because whenever we do, we laugh the night away.

Her friends were bugging her to make plans for her birthday. Every year she doesn't want presents, she doesn't want to go out drinking...nothing. So this year she decided to spend her birthday with the homeless. She invited her friends to come with her. She has been collecting clothing, blankets, hats, etc., and will spend the evening/night of her birthday giving it out and talking to people.

I had told her I had about 8 sweaters/sweatshirts for her, so she came for dinner and to pick them up. But hubby &I I spent the weekend going through closets and added about 8 men's sweaters, some never worn. A pair of men's winter boots worn once or twice. Two winter coats, each worn only once or twice. So, this will add to her pile.
This post was a tremendous inspiration to me. I've been so down lately. This is exactly the kind of thing to focus on - blessing others. I try...but some days are easier than others. God bless you, hubby and your niece for what you did for others. :love_heart:

I didn't really do anything. But I'm glad my niece made you feel better.

I had clothes I couldn't bring myself to throw away. Some because they were like brand new. A few because of memories. A sweater I bought to attend my son's graduation for example. I'm never going to fit into it, but I could not throw good memories in the garbage. I can, however, give them to someone who will appreciate them for their warmth.

And I told her, I'm sorry, but I cannot go with her. No excuses...I just cannot do it.

~~~
She has also started working on something (I'm unclear on the actual details) to help people with mental health issues. Not all help is covered by provincial or private health plans. She had a load of shirts done up, and you'll never guess who she got to pose with her and her shirts....Norman Reedus.
