I was wondering what the most expensive Stephen King collectable, be it memorabilia or a limited edition that book that was discontinued due to some error, or whatever.

By expensive, you mean that one has been sold. There are a number of one-of-a-kind items in collectors' hands that have not come up for sale. Some of the most expensive items include:
A signed numbered set of The Plant with the same number or that are all inscribed to the same person.
A complete same-numbered set of The Dark Tower books. (There can be only 500 of these, because there were only 500 numbered Gunslingers printed.)
The asbestos signed limited edition of Firestarter. (26 were done, and there's a rumor that one of these was destroyed in a house fire.)
These all command a five-digit price if you can find them. There is are two sets of the DT books --#433 which includes Wind Through the Keyhole and Little Sisters of Eluria for $21,500 and #441 on ABE for $15,550 right now. There's an asbestos Firestarter with the asbestos edition of Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 for $30,935.

Yes, collecting Stephen King would be quite expensive. Just the upkeep alone. Feeding him, dressing him, doctoring him. Thank God! he's already got his education so you don't have to put him through school, but he will bleed you dry on his paper needs alone. Or wait, he uses a computer. He will bleed you dry on computer storage needs alone. Wait. you can use those little stick memory things. He will bleed you dry because he is doing research and he wants to see how bleeding dries.
But I'd refrain from calling him an antique.
(As I said before, I collect DNA samples of famous people. And in a few years I figure all I need is a healthy ovum and I can grow my own Stephen King. )
Hey, what's one more mouth to feed? Health care is free, isn't it? And as to dressing him... he seems low maintenance . I don't think he owns any more than three T-Shirts and one dress shirt, and a couple pair of jeans. And the other sounds like a win-win... I love doing research. Although controlling him on his tweets might be problematic.Yes, collecting Stephen King would be quite expensive. Just the upkeep alone. Feeding him, dressing him, doctoring him. Yeah, we'll go with that one.
Yeah, good luck with that! Don't think there aren't times when I wish I could!Hey, what's one more mouth to feed? Health care is free, isn't it? And as to dressing him... he seems low maintenance . Well after reading Bag of Bones, and because I believe the literal truth in everything I read, I assume that Mr. King has at least three unpublished novels in a safety deposit box somewhere. I also assume that he has no other copies except the one on his safety deposit box.
If you had those unpublished manuscripts I am sure they would be the most expensive S.K collectible. I'm off to Derry to try and find them.
I will meet you there; we will share.
Hmm ok - I will be wearing the brown coat with the sign saying 'RARE STEPHEN KING BOOKS HERE - DON'T TELL ANYONE'.
...and a bougainvillea scented Golden Retriever stands guard....You guys are w-a-y too slow! I've already got them and buried them in a trunk under a tree next to a creek.......
