Yea i will admit sometimes they go to far lol.
That's what I like about it.
In this "enlightened" age where political correctness is continuously shoved down your throat, shows like Family Guy are a breath of fresh air. It's just nice to spend 30 minutes laughing at things you're not supposed to laugh at.
I'm not really a fan either.I'm the same. I can't watch that show (with exception for certain small scenes/skits).

I dunno, Matt, and maybe I just had the wrong time with no context.
Maybe Mother Teresa beating the girl up, or maybe some NFL quarterback giving her a shock, or a college basketball coach smashing a chair over her head, or something inappropriate like that.
But a burly dad punching his daughter into a pool of blood? It wasn't like I wasn't supposed to laugh at it - it was like I seriously couldn't understand how it was supposed to be funny in the slightest. Maybe if he killed her and served her with fava beans and a nice Chianti? I dunno. I guess I'm humor-impaired there.
I prefer South Park or a Kevin Smith flick if I want to push the comic envelope. To my mind (and I'n not saying anyone has to agree), both of those can be just as vile (lol) and crass, but are more clever than MacFarlane. Their nasty humor usually has a point beyond being offensive.
I've never really been able to get into South Park. Having said that, I absolutely loved the way they ripped the s**t out of John Edward and "psychic mediums" though.
I am so like the video store guy in Clerks!! It's like he 'channeled' me!!I prefer South Park or a Kevin Smith flick if I want to push the comic envelope. I'm not much into South Park either (even if South Park actually is in Colorado), but I loved the Scientology episode. It's still a running joke with Grandma and me, "Now I'm in/out of the closet too."
As a kid Mad magazine really made me laugh. It took a big chunk out of my grass cutting and snow shoveling money.
This past Christmas I got a four book hard cover edition from Mad magazine chronicling their "fold-in" section. Anyone remember those?
Ahhhhhh.. Memory lane.Oh, yes, and the Lighter Side of... and Spy v. Spy... and the margin notes.... Stupid Answers to Stupid Question (presaging "Here's your sign")... and Star Blecchhh! and Hello Lyndon!.... and even older stuff like The Heap and Hah! Noon!

To tell you the truth - the little clip I posted was dumb but yet I still found it a bit funny! (We had to go out and I forgot to log off - it has been a busy day today).Yea i will admit sometimes they go to far lol.
I guess that's where I stand, too. South Park is the inappropriate fix for me. I like The Simpsons, but not nearly as much as South Park.I prefer South Park or a Kevin Smith flick if I want to push the comic envelope.
