There is a video posted somewhere here on the board...King talking at some place...I think in Florida? Something to do with manatees? Or libraries? Neesy posted it...maybe an hour long. Thought SK said 11/22/63 is a favorite but I have that Anderson's disease...the one that makes you forget? So take it all with a grain of pepper.
I agree - um - wait - why did I come into this room again?

Yes, you're right - when he did the interview with Rolling Stone, that was his answer - Lisey's Story
This is a poll taken of Rolling Stone magazine's readers.
I really should read things a bit closer shouldn't I? The bit were the spoiler title actually says according to readers might have given it away.

Walter - have you been on the old wacky backy?

No...been awhile. The cold I think...it mounts to my head. I think that video is in Random Thoughts...skip the first 15 minutes...King starts talking about odds and ends. Might be the stain and varnish...the fumes...used to pass through the pilot light on the stove, make you think you had a gas leak. Diet...something. Gum.

My first was a Readers Digest Condensed version of Firestarter.

Well, I might have read something before that, but didn't realize it was his.

When I read Firestarter, I realized it was the same author that wrote Carrie, so I decided to read that as well and the full book Firestarter.

Just googled, and Firestarter was published in 1980. Is it possible I wasn't reading King prior to that?

this was my first as well. I get your plan to read new stuff as comes out but some of his previous work is absolutely grabbing. I have only read like 8 or 9 of his since I didn't start reading him till last couple years but the long walk you might want to check out. also I just fininshed the stand and I give that 9 out of 10 stars.

just curious, who was your favorite character in 112263.

Sadie is probably the character I'll remember the most. She was a strong character who had her defining moment.

I'm sorry for laughing. But....I can't help it.

And the word "uncut" for the second version works.

This is my first Stephen King book. <3 I was at Goodwill with my Mom and she told me to pick a book. So I saw this cover and thought it was neat and beautiful and paid the .75 for it and read the first 100 pages in the first hour I had it. I love this book. It remains to be one of my favorites. Now I own like 60plus Stephen King books. :/ I have an addiction.

That's great to hear, if only every reader who dismissed king as a low brow horror writer with no literary merit would just actually read his work with an open mind and unbiased from the start. Enjoy your new found back library.

Low Brow? Low brow to me is WWF. Reading the written word, any written word is on a higher level than most.
