...this is one of the most egregiously stupid breakdowns of security I've ever seen!....the old "dummy in the bed" scam, and freakin' power tools????...did anybody bother to DO tool control anytime in, oh I don't know-THE LAST YEAR MAYBE???????.....
Right! You know this stuff. I, as an outsider can't understand, but if you have any clue as to what should be the protocol, you must be disgusted!

...I'm a nurse, but obviously we are all trained for basic security measures-and yes, this makes me ill with disdain....there are staff that are responsible for checking tools in and out to inmates with the proper security level to handle such things....now I'm not sure how they handle things in Max security-but at our Medium security Institution, that's how it rolls....

How did they use power tools without anybody hearing?
Don't know about that joint, or any 'BIG House', but I've been in county jails where the ambient noise level is freakin' maddening, and they're monster echo chambers which makes them sooo much worse...I gotta believe some if not all were built that way, maybe as some kind of psyhological deterent.
Could be it maybe even works somewhat on some greybar guests of those counties, I mean me, can't say it curbed, or 'modified' (I love industry terms, who doesn't), my fun fun fun lovin' behavior, but it certainly gave me food for thought to try and avoid those counties:rolleyes:..well you know, on PatTheHat Fun Days:triumphant:

Just saw this headline: 'They could be anywhere'. So glad for our three dogs! AGH!!
Anywhere but that town I'd wager a days pay (eh, 'bout a buck fity), that's most likely the safest place in America right now...put the smart money on Canada I'm thinkin', or a wide swatch the twenty five miles that direction.

As much thought and prep that went into the escape I am as sure as you that destination possibilities were well researched.

...noise could be an issue, but even the noisiest of joints seem to hit a quiet lull in the dead hours between 3 and 5am....I'm guessing it was done during the loudest portions of the day and at shift changes when things are chaotic.....this doesn't excuse the horrendous lapses in security procedures and protocols though...

Did you see that pipe they cut into, Giant? And the note they left?

....it took a great deal of time, luck and patience...to pull this off...and so what if they were Contractor's tools?...a contractor in this sense being an outside person or persons hired by the Dept. of Corrections to provide some type of service...they are as responsible as the staff at the prison for ensuring their equipment is present and accounted for every hour on grounds...and the note?...it's cheeky, but not sure why the racially nasty "chinaman" figure was necessary, unless that's some type of prison gang symbol I've never seen, they are haters of oriental folks or just all around jackasses as well as killers.....
