As a kid, I grew up out in the middle of nowhere. My hometown is small, less than 600, and wild animals were more of a concern than wild people. But my family still had to deal with the occasional bout of theft or vandalism, so I was raised to be paranoid. I live in a city now, and that paranoia has spiked. I always lock my doors now, just on general principal. And I put up chains, you know the kind, the ones that screw into the frame of your door and give you some back-up locking power. I refuse to live in a place without those. And I still keep my .357 close by when I sleep, because my worst nightmare is waking up to someone in our bedroom and having no way to do anything about it. So far, I've never been bothered at home. But I'm well prepared if it ever happens.

A .357? That'll do the job. I've got one of those in my gun closet. It's still one of the most enjoyable handguns to go out and practice with. A literal hand canon.

I made a bison chuck pot roast once. The gravy from the juices it made was amazing. I can't describe how awesome it really was.
Last time I had bison was at a stew festival held at a ski resort (don't remember if it was at Shawnee Mountain or Elk Mountain). The Bison and Bear stews were amazing. I wasn’t too fond of the Mountain Goat and Rattlesnake.
