Lucky you!

I just lent a paperback of Pet Semetary to Stephanie (my son's fiancee) - she promised to take good care of it. I actually don't care if she returns it or not as it was not a first edition, plus I have another copy in better condition.

The cool thing about it is that she wants to read it because she has seen the movie!

What would I like SK to sign for me? - I think the copy of 11/22/63 I got in Mansfield Ohio on the King Kon 2014. That book is one of my favourites.
Forgive me for my ignorance but what is King Kon? I'm guessing a play on words and a SK fan Comic Con? Yes, I was not excited about 11/22/63 for two reasons. One, I was disgusted with Under the Dome (I won't bore you here) and therefore not hopeful with another long book. Two, I thought a book on time travel would require me to have to remember dates, times, physics, logic, etc.
Luckily, I loved it, too. That book has a real magical and warm feeling. I hope you get it signed.

Maybe I should tag GNTLGNT on this one - the next one is in Colorado in July 2016 - we all meet up and tour something (like in this case it would the Hotel where The Shining was filmed).

The one in 2014 was for Shawshank - we toured the prison where that was filmed.

The very first one was 2013 in Maine. Unfortunately I was unable to attend that one.

How cool. I actually just visited the Stanley in Colorado in August. My second visit. Also, drove to Bangor, ME to experience 'Derry' and loved it. I bet these events are a lot of fun. A great way for members to meet and hang out. Where is the prison? Did you like it? That's so awesome!

Well, I'm sure Muskie meant no insult, but I bet he would've caught the whole glock-with-a-safety issue and he would get rid of the dreaded 'arc-sodium' lights for once. =D
I'm Canadian so I wouldn't know a glock from a... different kind of gun? (Don't they all have the safety?) but I like the arc-sodium lights thing. What's wrong with it? I like the way it reads and I think it conjures up the right image. I also like the 'almost comical' thing he does.

As for what I would get him to sign, I would ask him to sign my Kindle, then I would finally retire it, put it in my special place for a keepsake, and get the upgraded one.

Oh, and cheque is Canadian spelling too. We use a lot of U's. Colour, Parlour, etc... :)

The arc-sodium thing is just a good natured inside joke we have here. We tease about it because Steve could've just used 'street light' and it would bring to mind the same image as 'arc-sodium'. I'm pretty sure that growing up in a small town about the same time that Steve grew up in one that he used 'street light' as all of my friends did back then. We don't want him getting all hi-falutin on us, doncha know.....;-D

It was a bit spooky. I listened to a recording done by Scott GNTLGNT - it was a little kid's voice. Kinda sends shivers down my spine now that I am thinking about it.
It was a long drive and I dragged hubby with me, but we enjoyed the trip (and the trip back up to Canada through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan was cool too!)

The Darkside of the Moon (England really)
I'd choose IT. Mine is a decrepit paperback with so many creases on the spine it's hard to make out his name. Every corner is scuffed and rounded, the metallic print on his name on the front cover has mostly worn away, the pages are tanned, they smell like an old book should, and I have just taped the front cover back on - I taped the back cover on a couple of years ago. It's worthless and only cost me £2.51. But it started it all, it was my 1st king book (and still my favourite) and I pretty much bought them all because of it - some battered paperbacks, some brand new hard backs, but IT is the one I'd rescue from fire or flood if I could only save one.

As he was already kind enough to sign the 25th Anniversary Edition of It that my wife and I own, I suppose I would ask him to sign either my 1st Edition of the same book, or Danse Macabre. In the grand scheme of things, it is just cool to have a copy of the book handled and signed by the author. To me, particularly as we move more and more toward E-Books, I see these signed books as heirlooms to be pasted down in the family.

I spotted a signed hardcover copy of IT in a local bookshop window recently, I went in and enquired about it but it was $450! I wanted it, but I also like being married ;-D

Depending upon the condition of the book and verification of the signature, that would be a good buy if you are the type that flips books. But you never know, you could always offer them less. :D
