I'm alive...thanks for wondering about me. Kids, horses, work, coaching HS basketball, and now back in school again for this semester has me extremely busy and very little time to play with friends. I will make an effort to check in a little more often and at least say hello. There was a mix up last spring when I took only one class. I was expecting it to go in as a student loan but because I tried taking a break one semester and only take one class, I was considered under part time status. This means student loan wouldn't pay and I had to come up with the money before I could enroll in any other classes. Meanwhile, I received a 5k scholarship for adults returning to education. Couldn't use it because of the situation I was in. It was for summer and fall so I figured I would sit out summer and attend in fall when I got the class paid. Fall rounds around and couldn't get it paid due to crazy circumstances. The people giving the scholarship said they would extend to spring semester when I told them to give it to someone else who could use it. Spring semester classes were starting soon and I still couldn't pay the stinking bill. Someone from the University called and wanted to know why I had quit the program. I explained everything, she took the issue to the Dean and the Dean paid 1500 which left me just a little to pay. I got it paid, got enrolled, got my books and am back in class....woo hoo! I enrolled in four classes to make sure I used all of the scholarship but with my schedule, that is making it tough. I am up very late most nights working on class work but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. If I can stay busy and score a few more scholarships, I should be able to finish in about a year. That will make me the first person in my family to have a college degree and I am most excited about setting the example for my kids of how important it is and how a little hard work will pay off.
I miss all of my SKMB friends. I will be around when I can though...keep those good vibes and prayers coming my way though. When I come up for air, I will send some good vibes your way also! :)
I'm so proud of you, (((Cowboy)))... what a wonderful example you're setting for your kids. Thanks so much for checking in and good luck with your studies, I always hope to see more of you but (please) don't over-do things for the sake of a catch-up... we'll still be here when things settle down more.

Wow - that is great Cowboy! I am so happy for you.

Going back to school as an adult is tough - I know cuz I did it a few years ago. The little grey cells in the brain are a bit rusty, but with study it should come back to you. Good luck!
