Does anyone know where 91rewot and sister gniknehpets are?
They used to post all the time....

Hi all! Sorry to be gone so long. We've both had some family things going on that have been time consuming and brain taxing so we've taken a bit of a break. And Spidey was right on about our haunted trip! We just got home from a 7 day wonderful vacation to the north shore of Minnesota. Hiked every day and saw the most beautiful scenery but our favorite things were the old cemetery where the graves never grew grass and all graves were either sunken a couple of feet or had a pile of gravel on them to bring them back to level and an abandoned mining town where we found a decrepit basketball court in the woods and small sections of pavement here and there where the streets used to be. The town had been built in a couple of weeks, workers and their families brought in, then 30 years later when the mining was poor the people move out. Eventually the houses were sold and moved. My husband said it looked like the world had ended there. It's our favorite picture. We've titled it "The world has moved on". Just showed my vacation pictures to my grandson. He thinks I'm pretty weird because I'm the only grandma he knows who loves to visit old cemeteries and ghost towns. :ghost:

Happy to be back, now I need time to catch up here!

Thanks king family fan. ;-D My sister and I were both so burned out we were starting to forget who or where we were. Our other sister took over the family duties so we could do this much needed down time for our brains. I feel so much better, ready to take on the responsibilities of life again.

I forgot to add that we took our new books along and read them in the evenings. It was a great way to experience a King book! Every few pages we'd stop reading to discuss what was happening. Wonderful experience.

"It was the furthest thing in the world from the rosy-fingered dawn of poetry and old Technicolor movies; this was an anti-dawn, damp and pale as the cheek of a day-old corpse."

Loved that quote! I remember reading it, pausing and reading it again just for the love of the vision the words evoked. Yep, he's pretty good. :adoration:
