Not in years, for a couple of reasons: first, I have seen friends and family slide down that slippery slope--for some people, I absolutely believe in a 'gateway'; second, it's illegal and I won't do anything that puts my family at risk. Losing my kids, either legally or functionally, is the worst thing I can think of.
Yeah, I didn't go over my reasons for not indulging, but when I was in college, part of my rebelliousness was to defy peer pressure. So I didn't do it there. Then later, I was in the Marines. Yeah, let's not give them a reason to throw me in the brig (jail). Then I was a family man with a career, and the potential risks far outweighed the potential benefits. And now here it is, years later, it's legal, and I just never gained an interest.
Besides that, I grew up in an atmosphere of secondhand (tobacco) smoke, got highly sensitized to that after I left home (never smoked even one puff myself), watched it slowly and painfully kill my parents who deplored my hatred of the stuff, and the thought of putting foreign substances into sensitive lung tissue is somewhat repellent.
To be fair, though, after reading the thread by Lepplady on the oil's potential therapeutic benefits, I talked with Grandma about a fantasy of a grow operation for the sole purpose of extracting the oils. Neither one of us had a moral problem with it. We don't have the space, time, or money to actually do it. But we had no problem with it.
