Dear Mr. King,

I traveled over 4000 miles to see you in Wichita, KS and it was totally worth it. I enjoyed hearing you speak, making the audience laugh and just basically being in the same room with you.

My confession is this....You left your half-full Aquafina water bottle on the podium and well, since I came all that way from California and we are experiencing a drought, I just couldn't let that water go to waste so I took it. Okay, that wasn't the first thing that came to my mind. Actually my husband pointed out that you left your water and well I just had to have it as a weird souvenir of the event. I thought to myself....What would Annie Wilkes do? Please don't assume that I am an Annie Wilkes in training. I assure you I am not, but if you would like the bottle returned to you, I would happily send it back.

Your Constant Reader always,
Karen

Where exactly did you say you'd traveled from? 4000 miles is a long piece away from Kansas City....something along the order of, say, the Yukon in Canada, possibly Denali National Park Preserve, or La Paz, Bolivia.

Something stinks in Sweden.

Perhaps she meant 400 miles? 4,000 miles doesn't make much sense.

She mentioned a drought and said she came all that way from California? Now I am no math wizard but I do like geography, so maybe we could figure out the distance using Google?

Hmmmm - maybe 1400 miles? :add:

Hmmmm........When I traveled from North Carolina to visit Lily in California a few years ago, I'm pretty sure it was less than 3,000 miles.....I'm also pretty sure KS is much closer to Cali than NC.....

If you're referring to Shakespeare it is Denmark (I only wish we had been honoured with a reference in his work)
