Luck!Today is the final.
Germany vs. Argentina
I am so excited.
We are waiting to win the World Cup since 2006.
I can't remember winning the World Cup in 1990 by the way. I was too young back then.
It has to happen this year.
Wish us luck!
I think Germany deserves to win. I have nothing against Argentina, but of all the teams I have seen in the tournament, Germany is the most solid.Today is the final.

Oh Germany have one!!!!Is this thing going to go to penalty shoot-outs then do you think?
I played striker or on the right wing mostly. I didn't get to see the whole game, but yar... the athleticism is amazing isn't it? They must have been naffed to go into so much over-time remembering also the added pressure of match importance. For the approximately 30 years that I played soccer, I was fullback (defense) the whole time. So that's where my sympathies usually lie when watching a game. The offense gets the glory, and if they screw up, well, the other side gets the ball and starts going the other way. But if the defense screws up, it's a goal. In its own way, defense is a tougher bar.
I thought Argentina had a great defense throughout much of the game. The Germans were holding onto the ball like it was glue with their shorter control game, but they couldn't solve the Argentinian defense. And Argentina had its chances; it just couldn't put the ball away.
On the whole, I thought the Germans played the better game. It still could've easily gone the other way, but I'm glad it was settled in field time and not by a shootout. And I just have to say: When Gotze took that ball, settling it off his chest, then jumped up and kicked it in before it hit the ground... well. Holy crap. I just shake my head in wonder. You don't have to like a sport to appreciate the athletic virtuosity on display.
