people buy for different reasons. i own about 1300 books. i have read most of them, and i absolutely plan on reading all of them. i also prefer to re-read a lot at some point, so i don't like to sell them or get rid of them in any way. i have a larger number that i haven't read than normal, probably about 100 or so, but will slowly catch up. many other people buy some books strictly for display, things like collectors items, and special editions, or a special cover. i don't have any of those really, but haven't ruled out doing so in the future.

Me too, I buy books to read. So many books, so little time :)

I sometimes read an E-book (not often) or listen to an audio book but I always like to have a proper copy too.

i'm actually a little bothered by the prevalence of ebooks these days. mostly because of the number of ebooks that are never going to be put into actual print form, which means until i get on the kindle kick i'll be missing out, and reading on a kindle just wouldn't be the same for me. but i'll probably do so eventually.

I totally agree. It's not the same.

He is a staunch supporter of women and equal rights as well as supporting the LGBTQ community.

so that means he supports equal rights ? than he must be really intelligent man. really intelligent.

cuz we man and women are equally and it is those backward illiterate idiots who says that we are not equal.

so can you please ( take it as my personal request ) quote something from stephen king on equality of man and woman ?

please kindly quote few quotes from stephen king on equality on man and women.

I don't have a list of quotes to be able to easily provide you with that and it could take some time as I would have to research it. I have worked for him for 28 years, though, and know his views on that from personal experience. Perhaps other members have information about quotes that they can pass along.

on what post you have worked with him ? are you wife of stephen king ? and ( sorry ) dont take me offensive. but how is it possible ? that you didnt understood stephen kings in 28 years ?

please kindly tell us some quotes by stephen king. ( for im curious to know it ) on man and womens equality.

personally i know it that we are equal. it must be foolishness to say that we are not equal. but still if you will tell me something new and satisfying than i will accept it.

so it is my request that you kindly give me alteast `1 quote of equality. only 1 if you cannot give more.

I'm not his wife. :smile2: I'm his personal assistant and have worked for him since November 1988. He has shown me his attitudes about women in actions more so than words. I thought what you were asking for is quotes he has made publicly in interviews, etc. in which he has spoken about his beliefs on that topic. I would need to find the sources before doing so. You could probably do the same just as quickly, if not more so, with a Google search as it's not something I'm able to do at the moment.

Rgis relates to SK response re Gay Rights
Stephen King might be a man of many words, but he kept his response to Indiana’s new anti-gay law short and sweet.

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which was signed into law earlier this month, allows individuals and/or companies to cite religious freedom if sued for discrimination, thus, potentially legalizing discrimination against the LGBT community in the Hoosier State.

The declaration has resulted in a slew of backlash against Pence and the state from individuals and companies alike.

King, who split his time between Indiana and Connecticut as a child, took to Twitter to offer his opinion Monday, and he did not mince words, tweeting, “Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration act is gay discrimination, pure and simple. You can frost a dog turd, but it’s still a dog turd.”

and thank you for your best reply. thank you for your time. your replies are best and helpful in every respect. thanks again.

From HeraldTribune
King, 69, said there’s been a lot of interest in the novel even before its publication, particularly with the ever-relevant topic of women’s rights.

“It just turned out when we were writing this book, it never even occurred to us all of a sudden the whole question of women’s rights and the way men that behave toward women (would arise.)” King said. “I think in a way what made us a fortune was that tape of Trump saying, ‘I grab them by the p---y.’ It just woke people up in some way.”

King participated and spoke at the Sarasota Women’s Solidarity March in January, which he said was a cathartic experience for everyone involved.

I think we're having a loss in translation. :smile2: After 28 years of hearing and reading a lot of things he's said, they begin to get jumbled in my mind and I'm not always able to say, oh, yes, in such and such magazine or newspaper on this date, he made a statement about women's rights and equality. We don't keep an index of his interviews to that degree so it would mean looking through a lot of sources to find the exact quote unless it's indexed on Google.
