At the thrift store today, I bought a 1st edition hardcover of From A Buick 8 (looks brand new) for $1.50! Folded inside the front cover I found a small poster that's a replica of the cover art, signed by SK (mass produced signature :( ). This had to be some sort of promotional thing, anyone know any details?
I have that too but don't know any details.

That poster was included in the book club edition of From a Buick 8. If the dust jacket on you edition doesn't have a price on it, it's also a book club edition.

Forgot to mention that I bought the first installment of 'The Prisoner' comic book last week. Didn't read it till last night. This must be something that is told after the Dark Tower books have ended because Eddie Dean is the narrator and he makes the statement of something akin to 'Let me tell you about the first time I met the Gunslinger'. WTH???

Two great used book stores finds for me recently:

Fear Itself: The Early Works of Stephen King (1993 Trade PB reprint), $3... I believe this is King's first collection of essays. Great reading!

Shadows (first volume, 1978), features the first appearance of "Nona". 1st edition, $12

I love Charles L. Grant's intro to "Nona"... :)

Post your latest acquired gem here....

(It's actually been awhile for me--does purchasing "Internet Blocks" so that I can hang out at the MB, count?) ;)

In reviewing my library shelves I was distressed to find that I had more Dean Koontz books than Stephen King books! Burn the heretic! Well this just won’t do. Time to take arms against a sea of troubles. So before I tried the ½ price book stores, I hit 3 Goodwill Industries stores.
Now searching thru Goodwill Books is a real adventure because they’re in no kind of order. They do tend to keep children’s books and cooking books segregated but that’s about it.
I did pretty well at the 1st Goodwill Store:
Gerald’s Game (PB): .59
Wizard & the Glass (DT IV PB): 1.99
CELL (HB): 1.99 (Have the PB edition but for $1.99!)
Everything’s Eventual (PB): .99
Tax: .37
GRAND TOTAL: $ 6.92
The 2 other Goodwill Stores I hit had no SK books at all but I did pick up Tom Brokaw’s nonfiction book “The Greatest Generation” and Michael Crichton’s “The State of Fear” for .89 each.
A house fire in 1999 left my library in this deplorable state. All my early SK books were lost L This was a good 1st restoration step J
