I got a book by historian Marc Morris about Edward I (called Longshanks). A Great And Terrible King: Edward I and the Forging of Britain. What was so special about it, that i noted only when i opened it at home, was that it is signed by the author. That probably does not matter unless the author is Stephen King (know next to nothing about such things) but it feels kind a special.

Cool stuff, KRF! I read that Fannie Flagg book several months ago - love her! (And I probably don't need to mention how I feel about that Stephen King guy. ;;D :love_heart: )
Loves me some Fannie Flagg, too! I have two of her books in my TBR pile now. I started Dust by Patricia Cornwell last night and after that I'll need some Fannie Flagg to cleanse my pallet....

Oh my flippin holy hell. That is so awesome.
WHat numbnutz let THAT go?
I know, right?!! I almost missed it in my fast perusing that I do when I go to Goodwill. It was in the little tiny section where they put the old books and it didn't catch my eye at first as it's not bright and shiny. Ha! I'm going to go to abebooks.com and see what it might be worth.

I'd be curious if you care to share.

Holy hell! You made a huge score there.
Yes! Not bad for a $2.16 purchase, eh? ;-D I almost put it back because it didn't look too special to me until I remembered that the limited edition of Eyes Of The Dragon has the signature page in the back of the book and flipped to the back of this one and saw it was indeed signed/numbered.

Devil In A Blue Dress is signed. The Just After Sunset is apparently a version only available in Canada. The Scarf is Bloch's first novel.
WHAT? The Scarf? Are you kidding me? This is a joke book, yes?

That's it! I'm writing a book and calling it

The Sock.

synopsis:

Big Joe Ranklestein grew up in war torn Pocatello, Idaho. His only companion was a blue argyle sock that became his closest friend. Until the day Sock ran off with Mitten, lost in the dryer for all eternity.

Ranklestein vowed from that day forward, anyone wearing socks would suffer --and the muuuurdering began.
