I can't remember what I used to do before I found this place. I was on a few other boards, but the people on those sites were mean, so I didn't stay long. That was years ago though. I was almost afraid to join here, I was expecting the same kind of attitude I guess. Boy, did you all prove me wrong! What would I have done without everyone's support when I had the cancer, and then the 2 surgeries? That meant a lot to me, believe me.

Thank you everyone for making this the place it is. I've said it before, but I'll say it again. It's the first place I check in online when I have computer time, it feels like home and the love on here is tangible. It's why I feel "antsy" if I can't get on here for a bit. I feel so good when being here, I agree it is a second home! You are so friendly, so welcoming and your support of one another is truly great, I have never seen a message board like that. That's the place that feels like a family, it is amazing! I love you, guys! And thanks for all the support I have also been receiving in hard times of my life!

I want to add to my post I made earlier. On one other board I was on, I got called a big liar about my then husband. I revealed something about us that apparently angered a lot of them.
I have told one person my secret, but have never revealed it here on the board. Guess I am scared of ridicule again. I sure got enough of it in my real life outside the board.
I don't think any of you would treat me like I was treated on that other board, but I still keep it to myself.

....I echo and then some all the heart-felt commentary already offered...much of it more eloquent than anything I could peck out on the keyboard...I came to this group as many do-an idiotic Noob, and unlike most-stayed idiotic-but we all must do what we are most gifted for...you have made me feel that we share our hearts...for me, this quote from our benefactor sums it up perfectly....

I just had to add my comment here. I have been a member for a lot of years now. Always enjoyed this place - the posts whether funny, thoughtful or just lively discussions on all manner of things. Some of you I have known since I joined, some we have lost (Bless our John - I miss him every day), others come and go very quickly. It's a group of friends who actually care about each other, and support each other through good and bad times. It's a place to come to share news, whether good or bad, and know that you won't be judged. I would have been lost over this past year or so without you guys to pour my heart out to. Truthfully, I don't know if I would have been able to get through.
So thanks to all who originally made this Board possible - Mr. King, Ms. Mod, Jordan, Brian and our lovely, tireless volunteers. Thank you to all who post some of the most interesting threads ever, and who brighten my day. Thank you for lifting me out of self pity and depression with your comments, caring and support. I have a hard time putting into words what this place means to me. Coming up on my 4th anniversary here, later this month. I joined only because I wanted to submit a picture to the Empire contest. I'm not a social butterfly, do not do any other kind of social media, so I never expected to want to stay or to form the bonds I have formed. You all keep me in a good frame of mind when hubby is working his 12 hour days and the kids are off in school or just whatever. I don't have a big network of people I can count on, outside of my husband and kids and (some) members of my family. But I know no matter what, I am going to get love and support from you all here. You've all been with me through some pretty hard stuff, my husband changing place of work, my stupid gall bladder surgery debacle, the loss of our Ahmira and my grandfather...and you've been with me during times of big joy, like when RJ was born, and born healthy. I cannot say thank you enough for what you bring to my life.
