Not much I can add that hasn't already been more eloquently stated. I am grateful for the kindness (and yes, love!) that I see here on a daily basis.

Hands down, best message board I have ever been a part of.

When you all sent my son to P.R. and prayed, well-wished, loved and lighted, and vibed him back home safe and sound. And kept this very anxious Momma sane.

Thanks to all y'all for being such great friends Y'all are the reason I'm sane (or somewhat sane lol). It's so horribly lonely living out here in the sticks The only people I get a chance to talk to are the cashiers at the grocery store and our conversations are short and usually revolve around whatever is on the cover of People or National Enquirer. Does anyone else see the irony of reading how we all feel about the SKMB, reading the praises and how it all comes down to love- love of the works of SK, love of the 'attitude' (or lack thereof) of the members, love for each other- and yet most of the world sees Stephen King as an evil man, writing about evil things? I just wish I could say to all of the 'haters'- 'See, this is why we enjoy our beloved author's works: it all comes down to love (in his stories).' But, then again, maybe I don't want to do that because then there'd be way more 'fans' and I think we make a cozy bunch with just us, right? ((((SKMB))))

I think you put that well - his books, while seemingly about horror, are actually about how people are good at heart. He believes in love and hope.
This SKMB is like that, too - funny at times, interesting and a good place to go whether you are feeling down or having a great day.
(and there are hardly ever any "grammar violations" here! (we are Grammar Nazis and proud of it!)
