This place provides a good place for casual conversation, be it about books or just talking about past experiences, it makes for a nice place to speak freely and unwind in between putting on my happy face at work or biting my tongue in general everywhere else. So, I'm grateful for that. The people on here tend to be intelligent and easy going, which is a nice change of pace from the norm. I plan on being around here for a long time.

I'm not really all that good at expressing emotions without it sounding tacky, but I'll try. Apologies in advance if it sounds weird and forced.

The people on this board are so nice, it really is amazing. Statistically, you'd expect a few azzhats , but not a single one to be seen( except for me of course ;;D) .

I think the biggest proof of this for me is how I can be open about my youth and still fit in a group with people over double my age with out being treated condescendingly. That does mean quite a lot. Thanks guys :wink2:

I've never got stuck on a board before. Too boring. But here... I felt welcomed and i found that i could talk about not only King but everything and ask questions about things. I was supported and could support and the humor of all participants. You guys really have a glint in the eye . Sometimes it is hilarious to see the inside jokes, you laugh and it is all your doing. The people who made the page, the people participating... To all of you, A big thank you for being there. I'll throw in a couple of hugs for each person too. Thanks!!!

Does anyone else see the irony of reading how we all feel about the SKMB, reading the praises and how it all comes down to love- love of the works of SK, love of the 'attitude' (or lack thereof) of the members, love for each other- and yet most of the world sees Stephen King as an evil man, writing about evil things? I just wish I could say to all of the 'haters'- 'See, this is why we enjoy our beloved author's works: it all comes down to love (in his stories).' But, then again, maybe I don't want to do that because then there'd be way more 'fans' and I think we make a cozy bunch with just us, right? ((((SKMB))))
