Loved the part when he compared 'the tribe' to part of the people leaving Egypt and instead of following Moses, following Joe Camel. Absolutely cracked me up.

I thought about someone getting put in the trunk, too! I also thought it could be an unconscious bat person in there, but put that thought aside right away since it was explained previously how they metabolize drugs faster and don't stay sedated very long.I was looking for threads that might branch out into other Stephen King stories, but couldn't really think of any. A couple of the names sounded familiar though.
Wow- I just deleted my whole reply due to this little in keyboard mouse. Crap. Starting again. I thought people were getting nicotine fits. I guessed maybe it would turn out everyone was a bat there and they were going to dissect Pearson and put him in the trunk. Morbid eh?
I laughed also-too funny!Loved the part when he compared 'the tribe' to part of the people leaving Egypt and instead of following Moses, following Joe Camel. Absolutely cracked me up.
Yes...lobstrocities! a mix of normal and surrealI don't remember any concrete references to SK's other works, but thought about DT creatures when he first described the first "batman."
Or the Taheen or Can-toi!Yes...lobstrocities! a mix of normal and surreal
No Problem, very glad you would join in. I like this story and appreciate the way Sai King tells it. Glad Pearson and Moira and Cam survived.Haven't read this story in awhile .
I thought it ended a bit too abruptly-how Pearson could just leave his wife and child, hoping they'd stay "blind" to the bat people forever.
This reminded me of the eyes in Joe Hill's Heart-Shaped Box all of a sudden! If I recall it talked alot about Black eyes (Raggedy Ann) and rolling eyes. Perhaps smoking aint so great hey. the eyes hit close to home.LOL
True. I forgot about them. He blamed on having to work late. Think he thought he would endanger them by going home?I thought it ended a bit too abruptly-how Pearson could just leave his wife and child, hoping they'd stay "blind" to the bat people forever.

Good Call... and in Nos4a2.This reminded me of the eyes in Joe Hill's Heart-Shaped Box all of a sudden!
Forgot about the eyes in that novel-another good call!and in Nos4a2
I thought it was so interesting how only the smokers who hovered between full-on addiction and quitting, could see the bat people. But wasn't there a non-smoker at the group meeting? Do you think she had just recently quit?
Well, give us your two cents, Sheems, what did you think of the story?View attachment 6658 I'm up next - how's the book club going ?
