One of our new members -- can't recall who, darn it -- mentioned that they loved guitars. Well, I have a few. Between us, my husband, brother-in-law and I could open a guitar store. These are just my guitars... (please excuse the mess, we have more stuff than room; the dirty sock is a guitar rag now)
The beautiful blue one is a Luna; made especially for women, with a smaller neck. I have small hands so it fits me fine. It was a 52nd birthday gift from my husband. It's made of clouded maple with a blue stain. The dolphins (this is actually called The Dolphin model) are abalone and there's an abalone edging. If you can see it, there are inlaid mother-of-pearl moons (M-O-O-N spells pretty) on the neck, showing a full cycle from waxing to full to waning. I love that little detail
The "Strat" is actually an Ibanez. This is the model Fender sued them over. It's the easiest of the electrics for me to play. It has a Floyd Rose whammy bar but I have not yet learned how to use it so it's in the case for now.
The black one with white trim is an Epiphone Les Paul Black Beauty. She was my 30th anniversary gift. She used to belong to a group of lady punkers and has seen a lot of use. Hubby had her rebuilt and everyone who plays her wants to buy her. She's a solid body so I have to sit to play her.
The all-black one is an Epi Les Paul Special signed by Joe Bonamassa. He came to the PBS station where hubby works and signed several of these as pledge premiums. There were a couple left over after the pledge drive so Hubby grabbed one for $100.
I recently started playing the guitar again after a 25-ish year absence. I'm not very good and would not call myself a guitarist, just someone who can play some songs on the guitar. But I'm working on it....
Let's see your musical instruments!!
