What are buck eyes?
I think they are peanut butter mixed with powdered sugar and then covered in chocolate. They look like bon bons and when you pick one up they look like a 'buck's eye'.
You're welcome. Danie made a batch for Christmas and she told me what they were. I wonder if you can add peanuts? They sound great, I agree. They sound good, never have heard of them before. Thanks
Oh dear - I feel so bad - was supposed to do some questions but life got in the waySo - the board is closing as of Wednesday until November 28th! Yikes - glad to see the mods will get some time off.
So tune in to your regular bat channel/bat station for the next survey which will take place on December 4th - maybe we'll all be ready for some Christmassy type questions.
Our cable channel/weather channel has started with the Xmas carols already - wow
Guess I could put that artificial tree up soon
Maybe I will get #2 son and his significant other to help!

We call these horse chestnuts
They sound good, never have heard of them before. Thanks

Now these I recognize Neesy Many of these trees around Kelowna and saw some on Know Mountain near the look out too. I always go up there in the Fall for pine cones to spray with gold paint. Put them in a centrepiece. We call these horse chestnuts
(They grow on trees right?) They have a prickly green pod - I remember seeing them on the ground when I was quite young
Hi danie They look really good and yes I would like the recipe. PM me or put in the recipes thread. ThanksThey are my son's favorite and very rich.
I have a simple recipe if you're interested. And Neesy is correct; they're called buckeyes because they look like buckeyes from the tree. Chestnut and buckeye trees are in the same family, I think.
Okay, Sandy, I will PM the recipe. I'm at work, so I will send it when I get home.Hi danie They look really good and yes I would like the recipe. PM me or put in the recipes thread. Thanks
Oh, ok, I stand corrected, lol. Your explanation makes more sense. They are my son's favorite and very rich.

Wow, what a gorgeous, stately tree. I wonder if these are the trees whereby Ohio gets its nickname? Thanks for sharing the great pictures. We call these horse chestnuts

Oh I wasn't correcting you. I think the actual buckeye (from the tree) got it's name because it looked like a "buck's eye."Oh, ok, I stand corrected, lol. Your explanation makes more sense.
None taken! (I'm 52 and my bf is 37!) Works GREAT for us.No offense to any older women
