The saga of the ironing board blues...

Oh, actually on second thought I'll give you the condensed version

- Ironing board broke (was stuck in upright position). Shopped around a bit and decided not to buy a new one just yet (but got a great deal on a Black and Decker steam iron!)

Anyway, after watching some YouTube videos I am going to attempt to repair it myself (lol) - I've had this ironing board for around 35 years and it's a nice sturdy one

Wish me luck!

I think it would be the height of entertainment to go bar-hopping with Billy and Gary - can you imagine the fun?

I have a funny Dollar Tree story - true story. You know there's always only 1 lane open, and always 10 people in front of you, but that's OK - it goes fast because EVERYTHING'S A DOLLAR. So, the elderly gentleman in front of me was asking the check out girl about every item in his cart: "How much is this?" Her constant reply : "It's a dollar, sir". His surprised face! And the he'd hold up something else "And this?" Again, she replied "A dollar" . Every couple of times, she'd get a little more insistent: "Everything's a dollar, sir". He looked so excited: "Really, and this?" I was dying with quiet contained laughter. It took a bit, but it was fine.

A 35 year old ironing board! Come to think of it, I got mine when we moved in together so mine's 27. I have changed the cover a few times but the board itself is still good. I hardly ever iron though - weddings, funerals, graduations, etc. My father in law got me a 6 pack of spray starch when we moved into our Cordova house in 1997, and I still have 2 cans.

The boards I saw tonight couldn't hold a candle to my old one (plus they weren't cheap)

Which reminds me, I need to log off soon and turn into Neesy, handy-woman extraordinaire (ha!)
