In Texas (or at least the part I live in), if someone is referring to more than one or two people, you must say "all y'all". It took me a while to figure out "y'all" didn't apply to groups of people lol.

Another phrase that confuses me is "up the road apiece". It can mean anywhere from 2 blocks to 5 miles :( I quit asking, how far up the road is a piece? I'd get directions listing landmarks I'd pass. I'm a city girl (or I used to be), I need street names to find my way. Turn right at the big pear cactus does not work for me :(
=D You must stay lost!!

I have not been able to think of much from here. We call soda "pop," lunch is "dinner" and dinner is "supper."

I don't think any of those are especially unique to Wyoming though.

My granny (from eastern NC) referred to lunch as "dinner" and the evening meal as "supper". I still get corrected by my family members when I call supper "dinner". They tell me I lived in the big city (Richmond, VA) too long. ;-D

My first memory of that "nekkid" reference is reading Joe Bob Briggs' reviews of drive-in movies.

My dad used to say, "slicker than snot on a tin roof."
Apparently, it is universally recognized that nasal mucus has a low coefficient of friction.

I was a big fan of Joe Bob Briggs when he wrote drive-in movie reviews for the Dallas Times Herald. I also watched TNT's MonsterVision which he hosted. I loved his comments lol. Then he moved to California and kinda dropped out of sight :( I don't think Californians appreciated him as much as Texans lol.

TNT, MonsterVision! That was it.

And yeah, now I remember reading his reviews in the SoCal news and him getting the Dallas cred. Same as Dave Barry writing for the Miami Herald (I think). I miss them both.

Ehhh, their loss...lol He was fun to watch.

And read.

"Joe Bob says check it out."

Sounds archaic and barbaric. You mean you had to receive your news on actual PAPER? ;;D

Inorite? You'd get ink smudges on your fingers! The horrors!

(I still get Discover magazine in paper. I'm as archaic as the dinosaurs they write about.)

A true archaeologist receives his news scratched on rocks. Made to last!!

The Petroglyph Daily! Where are the good herds today?

I’d say something borderline pervy about her, but I fear I wouldn’t be quite ‘neck enough for her.
