Where do the redneck's live mostly, in Texas, Alabama, or Arkansas? I've got relatives in Arkansas of Swedish descent and they have sent me pictures etc and one of the ladies came out here and her boyfriend visited about seven years ago and she had a real American accent. My father started talking politics with her. Most of the honest working class Americans from the South are 'salt of the earth' people. They seemed alright. The average American no matter what ethnicity are good people trying to just have a good life.

Did no one from Texas mention "fixin'"? Meaning planning, preparing.

"I'm fixin' to dig a new hole and move the outhouse."

I'd forgotten that was a thing lol. It just seems natural to drop those hard g's in words ending with ing. It isn't just a country song thing :)

The habit of dropping syllables in words with more than two syllables still confuses me some. Mavericks becomes Mav'ricks. Two syllables are dropped in the word veterinarian. It's pronounced vet'narian. It's no wonder my spelling is the pits lol.
